This high-quality RV park is located right off of I-75, just five miles north of the Florida Line. The large, mossy Oak trees that fill the park give it a calm, serene, natural Georgia beauty that also provides shade to keep visitors cool at their campsites during the summer months.
Sly Park Recreation Area
With nearly 200 sites available, Sly Park Recreation Area is on the edge of the Eldorado National Forest, an hour’s drive northeast of Sacramento. Owned and operated by the El Dorado Irrigation District, the campground is centered around the scenic Jenkinson Lake, where activities like fishing, boating, and paddle sports are common. Other popular activities at Sly Park Recreation Area include hiking, barbecuing, and having bonfires in the designated fire pits.
A popular family campground on the weekend, the 190 campsites at Sly Park are spread out between 10 different campground areas. Sly Park caters to tent campers and RVs up to 40 feet in length, and special sites at the recreation area include waterfront sites and a “Pine Cone Strip” area that books up fast for summer weekends. Reservations are available at Sly Park, and some sites are known to book a year in advance.

San Elijo State Beach
Get ready for your little ones to make friends at this beach campground, the most popular in the area. Its packed with kids playing and riding bikes. Take the wooden staircase down to the beach for fishing, sandcastle-making, swimming, and surfing. Plus, Seaside Market is right across the street. Cardiff Crack anyone?

San Elijo State Beach is open but with standard social distancing and face masks required, along with packing out your trash. No parties or large groups and locals are preferred. Reservations required and only open to a family group, no guests.
Rhode Island: George Washington State Area
The George Washington State Campground and Management Area sits tucked away near the border of Connecticut and Massachusetts and offers the regions best camping with New England charm. With 45 RV/tent sites near the appropriately-titled Lake Washington, popular activities here include fishing and swimming in the lake and nearby reservoirs. Larger parties can rent out one of two Adirondack-style camping shelters.

We stayed here a little over two weeks in mid-February 2019. We really enjoyed this park. It does get very busy on the weekend, but the area we were in was still quiet and peaceful. We were in an area that is deemed long-term and some people around us were staying several months. This was our second time staying here and we enjoyed it more this time because we had extra time to explore the park. We saw numerous deer and several wild boars which was fun.
