Beavers Bend Camping And Rv Sites
The Broken Bow and Beavers Bend State Park area offer many lodging options for visitors. In the State Park, you can choose to rough it while pitching a tent in one of the many camping areas, or stay in one of their 40 + cabins. There are several camping areas, all with toilet facilities. Other camping areas add more modern amenities, such as electricity,showers, and sewer hookups. RV sites are also found in the state park. They are popular and inexpensive, roughly $20. It is recommended to call the state park and get information on the availability of these spots.The individual cabins in the park, sleep up to 6 and come with small kitchens and light amenities, some with fireplaces.

Paddle The Mountain Fork River
Dont visit Broken Bow without getting out on the water! Mountain Fork is the river that flows out of Broken Bow Lake and the best was to see the river is to rent a canoe or kayak .
We rented a canoe from Beavers Bend River Floats for only $10 per half hour. Although, this may have been their off-season price as it is lower than the price listed on their website. Beavers Bend River Floats does not take reservations and operates on a first come first serve basis. Theyre also located right in Beavers Bend State Park near the park headquarters.
The section of river adjacent to the canoe/kayak rental shop was so peaceful! We thoroughly enjoyed meandering around the still waters in our canoe. This was definitely my favorite activity in Broken Bow.
Robbers Cave State Park
Located in the scenic, hilly woodlands of the Sans Bois Mountains of southeast Oklahoma, Robbers Cave takes its name from notorious outlaws who used the areas cave as a hiding place. The park offers two lakes, a creek, an ATV area, a miniature train and adjacent wildlife management area. Follow the link below to reserve one of the parks RV sites with water and electric hookups. Dining Outside Of Broken Bow Lake
The nearby resort town of Broken Bow has you taken care of when it comes to food. All along Route 259, youll come across restaurants of all kinds. There are sandwich shops, quick serve-style breakfast diners, and even some finer dining meals. Youll find taverns aplenty, serving up griddled burgers and fries. The Lake Murray Lodge and Cabins area is the main entrance area of the park and is home to the park office. This area holds the park lodge, cabins, floating cabins, Lake Murray Water Sports, beach area, tennis court, hiking trails, and more. Tucked Away In The Forest
The Ouachita National Forest tucks along the eastern and northern shores of the lake. Camp in a developed campground within a 60-mile drive of the lake, or set up a dispersed campsite on hard-packed areas next to forest roads. Try to find an existing site, often evident by rock fire rings. Keep camp at least 100 feet from the lake and be sure to bury or remove human waste. The closest developed campground lies 59 miles north. Billy Creek Recreation area has tent sites along water’s edge with picnic tables, drinking water and vault restrooms.

When it gets colder, it just seems like the trout like to bit a little better, Nichols says, adding that trout streams are stocked year-round and the park features two catch-and-release trophy areas. And at night time everybody can get a little closer around a campfire.

Officials say this is probably the least busy of the three campgrounds making for a more solitary experience but it still has plenty to offer. Drive ’em Round The Bend
The Mountain Fork River flows out of the south end of the lake in a sweeping arc known as Beavers Bend. The expansive river bend is the centerpiece of Beavers Bend State Park and Resort where you can camp in sites that keep you close to activities on land and water. The park has its own restaurant as well as miniature golf, horseback riding, a train ride and a variety of boat rentals and float trips. The campground has sites with electric and water hookups as well as primitive tent sites. The River Bend campground is the only one in the area with showers and a dump station.

Beavers Bend State Park
The main area of Beavers Bend State Park is south of the Broken Bow Lake dam. This area is off of Highway 259. The road that runs through the entire park is 259A which will take you to all the campgrounds. Our understanding is that all campsites are first come first served. The rough cost to camp is $12 per tent per campsite and about $20 for RV camping. Please check with the park directly for all official pricing.
There are roughly 40 cabins in this area as well that are operated by Beavers Bend State Park.
If you want to camp around the lake, you will either need to try the Stevens Gap Area or the Carson Creek Area.
