MASON, Ohio – After several delays, Kings Islands Camp Cedar, the $27 million luxury campground and resort, is now open.

On Thursday, Camp Cedar posted they are open and taking reservations.

The campground was initially scheduled to open around June 14 but was delayed due to construction delays.

Chad Showalter, Kings Islands spokesman, said Kings Island does not own Camp Cedar, just manages the property.

To check availability for a stay this year, visit .

The reservation office is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The resort and campsite holds 73 cottages and 164 full-service RV spaces.

Another 100 cottages are planned.

There are also recreational and adult-exclusive pools, ponds, walking trails, dining options, bathhouses, a laundry facility, firepits, grills, and picnic tables.

MASON, Ohio I couldnt quite make out the screams coming from Kings Islands newest roller coaster, Orion.

What I could hear, from the front porch of my cottage at new Kings Island Camp Cedar: my neighbors chatting around a campfire, the sounds of kids playing in the pool and the low hum of traffic on I-71.

If youre craving a secluded, nature-filled getaway, this isnt it.

If, on the other hand, youre looking for a convenient place to park your camper, ride coasters and entertain your kids, you may want to check out Kings Islands new camping resort, located on previously vacant land about a mile north of the Cincinnati-area amusement park.

The $27 million, 52-acre resort opened in mid-July after a series of construction-related delays pushed back the opening by more than a month.

The property includes 184 full-service sites for recreational vehicles , plus 73 cottages, with more on the way. There are two pools one for adults only a full-service restaurant, bar, coffee shop, camp store, plus a food-truck alley with more places to drink and dine.

My daughter and I rented a cottage there last month, spending a steamy August day exploring the place.

My assessment: Its clear that developers were in a rush to open, as parts of the complex were still under construction during my visit. Landscaping is incomplete and maintenance has some kinks to work out .

Kings Island has started construction on a multimillion dollar outdoor resort, called Camp Cedar.

The $27 million project will welcome Kings Island guests, vacationers and RV travelers.

The resort, set to open in Spring 2021, will feature 73 cottages, 164 full service RV spaces with more cottages planned.

Its natural for us to partner with Cedar Fair, the owners of Kings Island, said Jon Small, chairman and CEO of Small Brothers. The new luxury outdoor resort is located on more than 50 acres of land that’s less than a mile from Kings Island.

We have stay here many times. It is a great location for visiting Kings Island and Cincinnati. Always eat at least one breakfast at the Breakfast Club in Lebanon. Just have to arrive at the campground before 10pm. Clean bathrooms. I think they also have one small cabin for rent.

Nice place close to Kings Island and very basic. They do have a pool, small store, play ground and a snack bar. The sites are pretty close together and do not offer a lot if any privacy. The grounds were clean as well as the rest rooms. The staff was nice but nothing special. It was not “Enjoy your stay” it was “These are the rules”. They state free WI-FI but I could not pick it up at our site. I would stay there again if I was in a hurry to get back after a day at Kings Island.

Kings Island Delays Opening Of Camp Cedar Luxury Campground

Kings Islands new luxury campground, Camp Cedar, has delayed its opening according to local Ohio news outlet Fox 19.

According to a statement shared by Kings Island, the campground will now open to guests and vacationers on June 24.

Unfortunately, a combination of unfavorable weather, labor, and material shortages led to the delayed opening, said Chad Showalter, Kings Islands spokesman, in a statement. Park employees are now working to help those who already had booked stays reschedule their visit or find another accommodation for their trip.

The hybrid resort and camping destination will open with 73 cottages and 164 full-service RV spaces, with another 100 cottages planned. Resort guests will be able to enjoy outdoor entertainment like recreational and adult-exclusive pools, ponds, a walking trail and unique dining options. Camping must-haves will also be available, including bathhouses, a laundry facility, firepits, grills, and picnic tables. Those visiting Kings Island can enjoy resort-exclusive perks like Stay and Play packages.

Kings Island Announces New Luxury Campground Coming In Spring 2021

MASON, Ohio Kings Island announced plans Tuesday to open a new luxury campground near the Cincinnati-area amusement park this spring.

The park is calling Kings Island Camp Cedar a luxury outdoor resort, featuring 73 cottages and 164 full-service RV spaces. An additional 100 cottages are planned.

The $27 million development is under construction on more than 50 acres of land less than a mile from Kings Islands front gates in Warren County.

Kings Island Camp Cedar is being built and will be owned by Small Brothers, a Columbus developer, and Terra Firma Associates, a Cincinnati developer. Cleveland Construction is general contractor.

The resort will be managed by Cedar Fair, the parent company of the Kings Island.

In addition to the overnight accommodations, the resort will feature family and adult pools, an indoor/outdoor restaurant, Peanuts character appearances and meals, shopping and more.

The campground will start accepting reservations next month. A 2021 opening date for the amusement park has not been announced.
