Youll get the full month of September to hang in a tricked-out vintage Airstream trailer, a $1,000 gift card for grub at their pubs, and four additional camping passes so your friends can come frolic as well.

Send in a one-minute video before the end of May convincing them why you deserve some R& R, and you may very well be whisked away to the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains. Parked at their original brewery location, the Basecamp Brewpub & Meadows, on 100 acres of untouched wilderness, your new home comes fully loaded with two beds for you and friend , a full kitchen and bathroom, TV, fire pit, grill, heat and A/C. And, yes, theres Wi-Fi for when you just cant get away from answering email.

The prize also includes free guided activities like a horseback trail ride and chef-curated picnic and hike to help you connect with your surroundings.

Devils Backbone Camping Sites

There are 25 full hookup camping sites at Devils Backbone. Sites are long, thin, and level. There isnt much space between sites. The firepit and picnic table are located toward the front of the site.

Even sites are normal, full hookup sites. However, if you get an odd numbered site, youll want to be prepared with an extra length of water hose and electric cord. While the sewer connection is on the hookup side of the camper, water and electric are found on the front side, so youll have to run them under the camper to connect.

Full hookup sites are on one loop.

Sites are long and there was plenty of room for our camper & truck. They are pretty level. We added a block on one side.

Back in sites with no hookups are on an additional loop.

There are 24 tent sites. There are also 5 Hipcamp sites that provide some separation from the main campground.

Already with six weeks under her belt, Musselman will spend the next several months making her way up and down the coast, hiking a goal of 2,000 miles of lesser-traveled trails. Rather than sticking to the original plan of doing a thru-hike traveling from end-to-end continuously of the Appalachian Trail, the company pivoted in light of safety and public health measures.

Musselman will instead tackle the Appalachian Trail in pieces, among the other trails she will call home until late August.

I sort of have the free reins to decide what trails I want to be on each day and how to really construct this trip, Musselman said.

Depending on the day, Musselman says she might hike anywhere from two to 10 hours per day. Or she may take a rest day.

In addition to hiking and camping, Musselman will be taking video and photography for the brewery. There also will be an educational component to her content, showing how to set up shelters, prepare for emergencies and how to practice good environmental protection principles.

Some of my big picture goals is how can we get more people outside to access benefits of outdoors and how can we talk about how spending time outside really benefits our own mental health and well being, Musselman said.

She also has a goal of connecting with others while out on the trail. Musselman said this was the perfect opportunity for her.

Musselman posts her adventures to the companys social media sites.

Devils Backbone Campground Amenities

WiFi is available and it was the fastest WiFi we have experienced in our recent travels. Our test was to use a FireStick to stream TV and it worked great with minimal pauses.

No Cable TV is provided. Over the air signal was limited. In our case, we were only able to get a small number of PBS channels from Charlottesville.

Devils Backbone has two hiking trails. One is a nice path next to a stream and a field. The other is a woodsy trail. Its great to have hiking available. Some improved trail markers would be appreciated.

The bath house at Devils Backbone is clean. It has two showers each for men and women.

Note that the campground has no laundry, swimming pool, or playground.

Devils Backbone is about 20 miles from interstate 64. Its a good road but has some twists. Youll likely have to slow to 35 miles per hour in places.

Devils Backbone is located next to a highway. You may hear some road noise. However, we didnt hear any airplane or train noise.

Impressive complex, with an array of options . We had a large group but were seated quickly. Really friendly service. Meat heavy menu , but all done really well, Winners were a version of a french dip with brisket and the chorizo burger. Good mix of standard beers and seasonals. Food was bit heavy, though and I think the beer is good not great. Prices were a bit high. Would be a killer spot on a pretty day and is a few levels up from the other places on 151 for the size and layout.

What are people saying about breweries near 200 Mosbys Run, Roseland, VA 22967?

This is a review for breweries near 200 Mosbys Run, Roseland, VA 22967:

“Still new to the brewery scene but really enjoyed Blue Mountain Brewery! I got the Snow Day which is under the Malt or seasonal series I believe. It was introduced as the beer version of Mexican chocolate and indeed the flavors were amazing! I liked not only the bitter cacao nibs but also the subtle vanilla/ancho chile/cinnamon vibes. I don’t know too much about beer brewing but I very much enjoyed my drink and the service! Our servicer was really nice in explaining our beer selection and saved us the last 4 pack of Snow Day. The place was big and spacious with an outside dining area. Lots of parking and lots of other winery/breweries around!”

Devils Backbone Basecamp Brewpub & Campground

-Nellysford, VA

Nationally known, Devils Backbone Brewing Company operates a brewpub with a 120-seat restaurant and beer garden in Nelson County near Wintergreen Resort. DBB added a campground with 49 RV sites, 25 primitive sites, a bathhouse, and a dump station. Aqua Nova designed a custom 9,200 gpd treatment to handle the high strength wastewater from the campground facilities and planned expansions. Subsequently, the the pre-existing wastewater management system for the restaurant failed, Aqua Nova quickly adapted the Campground wastewater system to handle the restaurant sewage flow. Treatment consists of a primary treatment, a five-stage Moving Bed Bioreactor process and secondary clarification. Anoxic Bioreactors are employed for denitrification. Effluent is pumped to a low-pressure dosed drainfield system for dispersal.

Engineering services included design, permitting, construction oversight and commissioning. Aqua Nova provides operations support in concert with the licensed operator.
