Convenient Campground Right Across From Six Flags

We have stayed at this campground twice this year on Memorial Day and Labor Day. It is very basic campground but very reasonable compared to the more expensive ones. Our main draw for staying here is we are six flags fanatics and visit often since six flags is a short walk from the campground. In addition, there is roller skating, mini-golf, mini-cars, arcade, food and ice cream all within walking distance since we do not tow a car. The staff has always been helpful. The sites are mostly wooded and it is close to highway but with AC on, you rarely hear anything. I know they got purchased by Morgan resorts so I would expect new things in future. Overall great location for Six flags or trip into the town.More

Lake George Private Campgrounds Vs Primitive Campsites

If youre looking for private campgrounds in Upstate NY or the Lake George area, then youve likely already ruled out primitive, or backwoods, camping. Especially if youre camping with kids, staying at a private campground or resort may be preferable for several reasons.

When you stay here with us at Lake George Campsites, you can take advantage of conveniences like laundry facilities, restroom facilities , and an on-site camp store, where you can purchase firewood, snacks, and more. In fact, we also have a playground and arcade!

Primitive camping, which is also popular in the Adirondacks, is when you are out in the backcountry, away from roads and developed areas, with no restrooms or other perks. Youll need to hike out to your destination. If youd rather drive up to your tent campsite, Lake George Campsites may be a great choice for you.

Although we can certainly appreciate the draw of camping in the middle of nowhere, we pride ourselves on that marriage between rustic camping and basic comforts.
