When To Go

Sierra Nevada Mountains Campgrounds

Three Rivers is a four-season destination with distinct camping experiences. Go in the spring when the wildflowers burst into bloom, catch the Three Rivers Roping Festival each April or the May Redbud Festival of crafts, music and food. Cross-country ski in the winter and avoid the bugs and crowds on a late summer hike. Midsummer camping is popular, and campground reservations are recommended at both private and federal campgrounds, but be cautious of soaring daytime temperatures.
