Do you know how RV consignment works? Its a popular way to sell your RV, but navigating the process can be troublesome.

RV ownership can be a lot of work no matter your experience level. Theres a lot of maintenance you need to do, and it can get quite expensive.

As a result, there may come a day when you no longer want to own your RV. Instead, you would rather sell your RV and get some return on your investment.

However, you might not know how to approach the sale. After all, you probably are not a salesman, so you arent equipped with the skills you need to make as much money as possible. Therefore, you may turn to RV consignment dealers as a way to get top dollar for your coach.

RV consignment is taken advantage of by many RV owners of all experience levels. Its a great method to make as much money as possible.

It also means that you dont need to spend as much trying to make the sale. Instead, someone else will do all the work for you. So, you can sit back, relax, and make your money.

Getting rid of your RV is a big decision to make. You probably have owned this RV for years, so selling it will not come easy. However, if you believe its the right decision to make, you shouldnt hesitate. You could have many reasons to sell your RV.

What If You Cant Sell Your Rv

Selling an RV can be difficult at certain times and places. Just like real estate, you could decide to rent out your RV and make some money.

Some poeple even decide that flipping campers is not for them and would rather have a rental business. In fact, the we rent out the Travel Trailer that we currently own.

We have our RV listed on both RVShare and Outdoorsy.

Both platforms have benefits but listing your RV is free on each. Just make sure to update your calendar

How Hard Is It To Sell A Used Rv

If youre willing to price your RV at or below its listed value and market it aggressively, you should sell it fairly quickly. However, that will depend on the year, make, model, and condition of your motorized or towable RV. Advertising in popular places like Craiglist or Facebook Marketplace can speed up sales. But these marketplaces often come with casually interested buyers that waste your time or, in the worst cases, are outright scams.

When selling your RV yourself, youll also be responsible for the legwork required to prepare your RV for sale. Youll need to be available to show your RV to prospective buyers, and this could eat into your personal time. Plus, youll have to handle all the necessary documentation on your own, and ensuring this is done correctly can be a headache.

Thats why many used RV owners opt to sell, consign, or trade in their RV to a dealership.

Selling your RV to a Camping World dealership gives you cash in hand. Consigning means letting Camping World do the leg work of selling your RV. When the sale is complete, they write you a check minus a commission fee.

Trading in your RV at Camping World allows you to take money off your next RV purchase with Camping World so you can start shopping for an upgrade, assuming you dont owe anything on the RV youre trading in versus the unit youre purchasing.

Problems With Camping Worlds Used Rvs

The first problem with Camping Worlds used RVs is that theyre notorious for having long repair wait times. Repair times are a big problem in the RV industry, and customers have complained about long wait times for their units. In fact, hundreds of reviews have been written about campers waiting for months to get their units repaired. Service quality at Camping World varies widely depending on the location and technician, but its a common complaint. In addition, camping world doesnt have any way to move fifth-wheel trailers, meaning youll have to wait all day long for your vehicle to be serviced.

Fortunately, the RV company was able to fix some of the problems Helen had with her 2012 unit. While her complaint was not filed with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, she was able to get a new camper and a new warranty. Unfortunately, the RVs living space and interior are not covered under Floridas Lemon Law. Luckily, her case was settled through a confidential settlement.

Tim Dunkin bought a new RV from Camping World in May with the intention of driving west. Five months later, his trip never materialized and his RV remains in the shop. He reported numerous problems with the used camper after the purchase. Tim Dunkin also complained that the water tank was defective, his toilet didnt work, and the engine light was always on. Despite his frustrations, the company did manage to make the repairs quickly and efficiently.

Camping World Review: Rv On Consignment

Coachmen Concord 240RB

We were approached on facebook by a sales person of camping world of Mac on because he saw our ad about selling our brand new 2017 rv. He said we pay nothing, we agree on selling price, they do the rest. We brought it in, sat around a public table, constant employee and customers traffic, we told them we wanted 20, 000 firm, it was a month old, we bought extras, and we purchased for almost 22, 000. They shoved papers in front of us to what they said was a similar rv, with figures of 17, to 19, we dropped to 19, come to find out later this rv they showed us was a 2016 less all the features it came with. It took 10 days to list, the 5 pictures were awful and there was a lot of false information on it, they actually have it down as having and am/gmail CASSETTE plater, um hello, really? They need to find new advertiser, then we find out they put the selling price of 24, 995, after telling us we are not gonna come close to getting 20, 000 for it. We wanted them to change, no response, we wanted to pick up our rv but then noticed in the print of contract that we have to pay 499.00 for advertising, not for false advertising, I wont, I put in a complaint with BBB, been a week and nothing and Ingo is still the same on ad site, I am one day away from going to the news, I here ABC the fixer does wonders, they want this kind of publicity, fine, …untrustworthy and greedy and absolutely no communication at all, they have no idea of what good customers service is

Selling Isnt Your Only Option Explore A Trade

Its not uncommon to think selling your RV is as straightforward as selling and then buying again, but thats not the only option. Another way to ensure youre getting the most money from selling is to trade in your RV. By trading in your RV, youre able to use the trade-in value towards the purchase of a new one.

Its a solid choice for RV enthusiasts who are looking to continue living the RV lifestyle but in a newer RV. Whether youre upgrading or downsizing, trading in your RV is worth exploring if only to make the selling process even smoother.

Camping Worlds trade-in program promises to find you a deal on a valid trade-in or else theyll buy your RV outright. Its a win/win option that many RVers lean towards when it comes time to sell their RV. The program works as follows:

  • Receive cash for your RV immediately.
  • Take advantage of fair prices at the time of your RVs inspection.
  • The buying process is simple and straightforward leaving you with peace of mind and cash-in-hand.
  • Selling A Used Rv Online

Before you list your RV for sale, consider what your personal bottom line is. In northern climates, fall and winter usually see price decreases, while spring and summer are characterized by a rise in demand. Likewise, crowded campgrounds in southern climates may see a low inventory of used RVs. Other factors to consider when setting your price include the economy, COVID restrictions, and gas prices.

Camping World will soon launch a nationwide online sales platform called Highways to service the RVs it sells. The new system, known as Highways, will help the company sell used and new RVs without a middleman. The company will also be able to ship used RVs directly to customers, which will eliminate the need to deal with multiple vendors. For now, Camping World plans to launch the new system in April 2022.

If you decide to sell your RV privately, make sure to include negotiating terms that are specific to the sale of your RV. These terms should include terms such as firm, best offer, or must sell. Using visual representation, especially when advertising online, is vital. Besides the written word, it also helps to post high-quality photos and video walk-throughs of the RV. Dealers will almost certainly buy or trade used RVs if they cant sell them through a dealership.

Answer: Yes, it is possible. If you reside in a larger city, it would be much easier to sell your vehicle, especially if it is an expensive RV. How To Sell An Rv

Whether your RVing days are a thing of the past, youre upgrading to a new rig, or downsizing to a smaller camper, selling an RV can be stressful. Chances are, you want a quick and easy sale that returns the highest value on your asset. But, as with any vehicle, depreciation can be high, and it can happen quickly. So, how do you sell your RV efficiently and effectively? Here is everything to take into consideration when selling an RV.

    Why Sell Your Used Rv

Maybe your RV is starting to feel cramped, and youre ready for a larger RV. In this case, you might consider trading in your RV in search of a new unit. Trading in at Camping World allows you to deduct the value of your trade-in from the taxes owed on a new unit.

Possibly youre concerned about winterizing your RV and storing it properly. Or you want your RV off your hands so you can focus on other things. Consigning your RV can be a good option in this case, as your RV can live at a Camping World dealership until it sells, at which point the dealership will write you a check minus a consignment fee.

Or maybe life circumstances are making RV adventures difficult for you right now. You can sell your RV and get a check in hand to spend on whatever you wish, although you dont get the tax benefits that come with trading in your RV. If you do sell your RV and dont wish to get a new one, you can always rent an RV down the road to keep your camping adventures going.

Whatever your motivation, Camping World has options to help.

Take Time To Do A Deep Clean And Stage Your Trailer

Even if someone plans on buying and renovating your travel trailer, no one wants to buy a trailer thats filthy. A disorganized and dirty travel trailer will not look good in pictures or in person, so take the time to clean before you put it on the market.

In addition to cleaning all areas, including storage spaces, cabinets, and appliances, dont forget to neutralize odors and try to get your travel trailer showroom clean. It may not be a bad idea to have your trailer professionally cleaned and detailed. This may set you back about $300, but it can help to secure a quick sale for top asking price.

Taking the time to stage your travel trailer, much like you might a home for sale, can attract buyers. Whether you add a few new bathroom towels or throw pillows in the seating area, a few personal touches can go a long way.
