Six Flags Darien Lake Campground To Reopen
BUFFALO, N.Y. While Six Flags Darien Lake’s theme park remains closed, its campground plans to reopen on June 25 for camping and some activities. This includes cabin, campsite, and RV rentals.
But things are going to look very different.
The park is installing multiple hand sanitizer stations, hiring trained cleaning teams for disinfecting, and increasing cleaning.
You’ll have to wear a mask anywhere outside of your campsite, and you can’t have people over who aren’t registered to your campsite.
Social distancing will apply as you camp, and the park plans to have open a few amenities in its General Square, such as the General Store, Pizza in the Square and the Arcade.
Now, you’ll also be able to order food within the General Square and check in/check out using an app.
“Six Flags Darien Lake is fully prepared and thrilled to welcome guests back to our campgrounds as we introduce new hygiene and sanitization procedures to make a safer environment for everyone, said Park President Chris Thorpe.
Employees will now be required to participate in health screenings, extensive COVID-19 training, and they will be issued safety glasses, a safety face mask, and disposable gloves.

It seems like they might have mentioned that on their website before we bought tickets, rented a hotel room, and drove over two bourse to get here! Never again!!! Disappointing!
Nikolai NGood time had by all!Great 3 day family getaway. We stayed in the Ontario Place RVs and it was so nice. I brought cleaning supplies expecting to have to clean it to make it sanitary but the RV was spotless. Cleaned very thoroughly. Our walk to the park was short so the location was good. The amusement park was a good time, our whole family found rides to enjoy. The Splashtown water park was fun and refreshing!!! The water was very nice. The only complaint I have is the lack of workers. This created very long lines for food and few rides were open. However I’ll also say that the workers who had to unfortunately had to manage whole rides and food stands alone were still all very professional. I didnt encounter a single miserable worker there the whole stay. Great job Darien Lake for a awesome family trip……just please properly staff the food and rides for the enjoyment of guests and benefit of workers

DARIEN CENTER, N.Y. Six Flags Darien Lake is planning to reopen its campground on Thursday, June 25.
Six Flags is now taking reservations for cabins, campsites and RV rentals.
Dining and retail options in Darien Square, including the General Store, Pizza in the Square and the Arcade, will be limited.
Six Flags Darien Lake is fully prepared and thrilled to welcome guests back to our campgrounds as we introduce new hygiene and sanitization procedures to make a safer environment for everyone, said Park President Chris Thorpe. The health and safety of our guests, team members and community remains our top priority. We are grateful for the states support and confidence in our reopening plans that deliver clean accommodations for families visiting the area.

Epr Properties And Six Flags
Following the 2016 season, CNL Lifestyle sold Darien Lake and 14 other amusement parks to EPR Properties. The park continued to be leased and operated by Premier Parks, with no immediate change in operations or staffing. Tantrum, a Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter coaster, opened for the 2018 season. Starting with the 2018 season, Six Flags Entertainment Corporation acquired lease rights to operate the park, with the park remaining under the ownership of EPR Properties. Six Flags SkyScreamer, a Funtime Star Flyer, opened for the 2019 season. During this season, the park reverted to the Six Flags Darien Lake branding. For the 2020 season, it was announced that Wahoo Wave, a ProSlide waterslide, would be added to the newly re-named and re-themed Hurricane Harbor WaterPark.

Whats New At Six Flags Darien Lake
In 2020, Six Flags was supposed to introduce Wahoo Wave, a 60-foot-tall water slide. Due to the pandemic, the park never opened for the season. It is likely that it will be featured for the 2021 season. Passengers in four-person cloverleaf tubes will navigate a 30-foot drop and then careen up and down a 30-foot “wave wall.”
Darien Lake Fun Country
In 1954, Darien Lake was excavated and filled. The lake was a popular swimming destination for many years. In 1964, investor Paul Snyder acquired a 164-acre parcel of land bordering the lake and opened a small 23-site campground and picnic area. Snyder continued acquiring more land eventually increasing his holdings to almost 1,000 acres of land which included seven lakes, the largest of which was Darien Lake. He stocked one of the smaller lakes, Trout Pond, with fish, increased the number of campsites and added activities for resort guests such as a small petting zoo, horseback and pony rides, paddleboats, skateboarding, tennis courts and miniature golf. From the late 70s and into the early 80s, Snyder added more attractions, including a set of water slides on a hill near the park’s entrance called Rainbow Mountain, creating an amusement park he named Darien Lake Fun Country. Snyder made a deal with HUSS Park Attractions, turning Darien Lake into the North American showcase for the German manufacturer’s new rides. Through this deal, the park acquired rides such as the Pirate, Ranger, Thrillbilly and the Corn Popper, for use in the park and to give HUSS a location to display them to potential US and Canadian buyers. In 1982, the newly merged ArrowHuss built and opened the park’s first major roller coaster, Viper.

Herschend Family Entertainment/cnl Lifestyle
In 2011, Herschend Family Entertainment assumed day-to-day operation and management of Darien Lake and Elitch Gardens. Rowdy’s Ridge opened in 2012 with several family rides. For the 2013 season, Blast Off was placed in the newly rethemed Waterfront Boardwalk area, which included major renovations to rides like the Grand Carousel and the Giant Wheel, along with some new dining options. Laserblast received new improvements and was rebranded Ignite the Night. UFO and the ‘Cuda Falls waterslides were closed and removed. The Scrambler ride returned after two years in storage.

Admission And Location Info
Tickets to the theme park include admission to SplashTown, the onsite water park. The park offers reduced rates for juniors and seniors . It also offers a reduced rate for visitors arriving after 5 p.m. Children ages two and under are free. Admission to the park is included for guests of the onsite campground and hotel. Discounted tickets and special deals may be available online at Darien Lake’s official site. Season pass and group tickets are available.
The park is in Darien Center, New York, which is located between Buffalo and Rochester. The address is 9993 Allegheny Road, Darien Center, NY 14040. To get their by car, take the NYS Thruway to Exit 48A. Go south six miles on Route 77. Look for the the towering red Ride of Steel coaster track.

Rustic Camping For Rvs
Cherry Hill welcomes RVs up to 40 ft. Our campsites are all rustic, so none of them have electric or water/sewer hookups. When campers come with RV’s they either dry camp, work off a battery, or use a quiet generator . We have potable water at convenient locations around the campground for filling your water tanks, and also have a dump station.
Darien Lake Theme Park Resort Campground
Darien Lake Theme Park has its own campground with 600-plus campsites that are wooded or sunny. You can purchase camping packages that include admission to the theme park or waterpark, shows and free parking. You can also rent an RV to camp in. The campsite locations vary depending on how close to the park you want to be and which trail you camp on. Each site has electric and water. Full hook-up sites are available for RVs and campers. Bathhouses and showers are nearby. Besides being close to the park, the campground also borders Darien Square where you can find shops and restaurants. Pets are allowed.
