Affordable RV Camping at Blackwater River State Park in FL

Check In

Reserved campers can check in from 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM on the first day of the reservation. Reserved campers who need to check in after 10:00 PM should call the park directly for after-hour check-in procedures.

Check-Out

Check-out is 11:00 AM SHARP at all campgrounds! This policy is strictly enforced to allow campground staff enough time to prepare the site for the next customer. Failure to vacate the campsite on time may result in a citation and anything left on the site after 11:00 AM may be disposed of as abandoned property at the owners expense.

Early Check-Out

If you have to permanently leave the park earlier than expected, be sure to check out at the campground office. If we are informed of your permanent early departure, and collect your camping permit, then you will not be held responsible for any misuse of or damage to the site after you left.

Monthly Campground Rates In Colorado

Colorado may be a tougher sell because very few of the RV parks and campgrounds on their top 10 list offered monthly rentals. The ones that did, the range was between $450 and $600 making it a fairly consistent state for RV Park rental fees.

Only one of the entries did not allow pets or they just declined to say. This means it may be decided on a case by case situation. All of them did offer both 30 and 50 amp electrical hookups.

RV camping in Colorado may be a bit on the expensive side unless you can find an RV park that is more reasonable on its monthly renting fees. There are certainly a lot more RV parks available than just those on that top 10 list but the list gives you a little idea of how much you are going to pay each month if you stay in that state.

State Parks More Than Just Camping

State parks offer a wide range of outdoor recreation. Some parks have horses for hire, swimming pools, tennis courts, and playgrounds. Hiking trails, fishing, rock climbing, rock hounding, geocaching and even golf are just some of the recreational activities available.

Some state parks permit long term RV stays while others restrict how long you can camp. RV camping facilities go from nothing to everything in State parks. Goosenecks state park in Utah has dispersed RV camping locations with no facilities and no charge, while Chatfieled State Park in Colorado has full RV hookup campsites available.

Statewide Cost Of Living Gets Passed Along Too

Some states are notoriously more expensive to live and stay in than others. For example, a one-bedroom apartment in New Jersey may be about $1,400 a month, but in North Carolina it might be about $600. The apartments are pretty much the same size, but because it costs more to live in New Jersey, apartments there cost more.

RV campsites are essentially the same way. More expensive states will often insist you pay more to lodge at their campgrounds.

The best advice I can give here is to do your research. If you know a state has a high cost of living, you should reasonably expect that average RV campground rates for that state are going to be high, even without all the great amenities. If thats outside your budget, keep looking.

Average Rv Campsite Cost Per Night

If you are looking for a basic-to-average RV park then you can expect a price range between $30 to $60 per night. There are also luxury RV resorts like Disneys Fort. Wilderness where a site might range from $70 to $100 per night. While this might seem a little high to some, many families prize RV parks with entertainment close at hand.

Monthly Campgrounds In Oregon

In this state it may be easier to get 30 and 50 amp hookups and your pets in the park than it is to get a monthly rental fee. Only 1 RV park on the top 10 list gave a monthly figure and it was $700.

One more said to call for a rate but it doesnt look good. The other 8 did not list a monthly fee although we did find outside of the list that there is a possibility of paying around $350 to $450 a month at other RV parks in the state.

Each park has a nice setting and you can relax with all the beautiful scenery surrounding them. Your only question is if the scenery is worth the extra expense as Oregon doesnt have a theme or amusement parks to draw in the crowds.

Hacks To Save On Campsites

While discounts are an excellent way to save some cash, they aren’t the only way you can manage your campsite budget better. Here are some extra tips to consider that can help you get the best possible deal:

Camp during the off-season. Prices on RV parks tend to be higher during the summer because more people are out camping. In turn, prices go lower in autumn and winter since fewer people are RVing and campsites want to attract customers. This time is perfect for discounted rates if you don’t mind the chillier weather.

Consider a camper club. Camper clubs come with a yearly fee, and their members get discounts on campgrounds within the network, usually around fifteen percent. You need to pick out a club that matches the sort of locations you like to camp in, but the right fit will give you savings throughout the year!

Researching your options. There’s no shortage of campground options out there, with different price ranges, amenities, and environments. Studying where you’re heading in advance will give you enough time to find the best prices and potentially even save a bit for getting your reservation in early.

Pay attention to hookups. Campsite hookups do let you have an extra level of convenience while camping, but how much do you need? Usually, the fewer connections you use, the less it will cost to stay, so plan what you use carefully.

Camp At A Quiet State Park On The Washington Coast

Washington State doesnt have as many state parks on the coast as Oregon and California, but we recently found one in a scenic, remote spot. Grayland Beach State Park is located off Highway 105 along the Pacific Coast, only ten minutes south of Westport and a half-hour west of Aberdeen.

Grayland Beach SP has a wide-open sandy beach that you can drive on and a wooded campground that is very RV-friendly. The roads and sites are smoothly paved and large enough for rigs up to 60 feet long.

Some sites have full hookups, some sites are without sewer.

Best Park Passes For Camping Broken Down By State

One of the perks of traveling by RV is that you carry your home along with you.

Surrounded by your own creature comforts, camping in a motorhome or travel trailer lets you experience the great outdoors while enjoying home cooked meals and a familiar bed every night. Lodging costs should be low, but paying for a campsite these days can really put a dent in the pocketbook. Who knew campground fees would, in some cases, equal or even surpass that of a hotel?

One option to booking a more budget-friendly campsite is to stay in a state park, where fees are usually lower. Luckily, many states offer annual passes and special discounts that make the deal even sweeter. To help you out, weve compiled a list of every state park systems annual pass offerings.

How Can I Save Money

Free camping is available throughout the United States. Refer to freecampsites.net to see where you can camp for free. Oftentimes, a Walmart or casino will allow RV owners to camp for free. Before you do, however, check with management to see if its allowed. Some rest areas may allow it as well as long as there no signs prohibiting it.

If you plan on staying for more than a week, most campgrounds offer weekly, monthly and semi-annual discounts.

Several discounts apply for those who hold AAA, Good Sam Club and AARP cards. Active and/or retired military may be able to take advantage of discounts as well. Always ask before booking your campsite.

As mentioned above, some state parks offer annual passes. Take advantage of this offer if you plan on camping enough to justify the annual cost. Since some state parks only require a pass to camp, this is a great way to save.

If youre older than 62 years old, you can purchase an America the Beautiful Passport for $10, which is good for life and offers access to all national parks.
