There is much to do, see, and experience in the region surrounding Edgar Evins State Park. The cuisines you find in the small communities surrounding the park offer a mix of American, seafood, Mexican, and more that will please any palate. Shopping opportunities in the local area provide an abundant supply of florists, gift shops, and sports outfitters. Visitors must travel some distance to find an urban area large enough to support shopping malls, such as Murfreesboro. Educational sites in this region concentrate on historical events.

Campsite type: The park has 109 available campsites, 40 of which offer hookups and that can accommodate small campers and RVs. There are 47 sites with water and electrical hookups and 22 tent-only sites. Backcountry shelters can be reserved with a backcountry permit by calling the park office.
Those who prefer to rest indoors can book a room at the park’s 117-room Lodge Montgomery Bell, 615-797-3101, or rent one of the park’s eight cabins near Lake Acorn.
Cost: Rates start at $16.
Three lakes are nestled into the 3,850-acre park and provide visitors the opportunity to soak up the sun on their swim beach shores and paddle.
Inside Edgar Evins State Park
Edgar Evins State Park is known for its bird-watching opportunities and the excellent fishing found in Center Hill Lake. Rare birds that periodically occupy the park include three different owl species, numerous hawks, wintering bald eagles, and the super-rare cerulean warbler. Of the four trails that wander through the park, some are rated easy while others are considered challenging. Center Hill Lake harbors several fish species, including trout, smallmouth bass, bream, and walleye.

Cedars Of Lebanon State Park

Campsite type: A variety of sites are available for RVs, pop-up campers and tents. Each campground loop features a bathhouse.
Cost: Rates start at $20.
Part of the Cedars of Lebanon State Forest, this Wilson County park offers eight miles of hiking trails with views of the forest’s eastern red cedar trees. The park has 117 campsites featuring electric and water hookups, grills and picnic tables and 30 campsites for tents and pop-ups. The park also has nine, two-bedroom cabins available for reservations.

Campsite type: There are 60 spots that feature wooden platforms for tents and trailers with hookup. Each has fire ring, grill and picnic table with access to bath houses. Nine primitive walk-in sites and cabin rentals on the lake are also available.
Cost: Rates start at $12 for primitive sites, $28 for standard and cabin rentals start at $250 for two nights.
The 6,000 acre park is located on the shores of Center Hill Lake, with lots of outdoor recreational opportunities. There is also a large on-site marina, restaurant and gift shop.

Located in Hermitage, Long Hunter State Park offers more than 20 miles of hiking trails of varying difficulty and length, from the paved 2-mile Couchville Lake Arboretum loop trail to the one way 5-mile Volunteer Trail. The moderate Volunteer Trail is the park’s longest and hugs the shore of Percy Priest Lake, leading to two primitive backcountry campsites.

Our campground consists of 60 tent and trailer campsites with electrical and water hookups. These wooden platform-type sites, which are reinforced with concrete and steel, are built around the slopes of Center Hill Lake and are equipped with a picnic table, grill and fire ring. They are designed for trailers or motor homes up to 33 feet in length, with a few select sites up to 40 feet in length. These sites can also accommodate small and large tents. Camper tents requiring tent pegs or stakes are asked to use large nails to secure the tents and to remove the nails when breaking camp. Also, trash cans are not provided at the individual camp sites, so campers should take trash to the dumpster provided near the camper check-in station.
There are three bathhouses with hot showers located throughout the campground. A sewage dump station is centrally located in the campground. Approximately 20 sites and one bathhouse are open year-round. Pets are allowed in the campground but must be kept on a leash and not left unattended on the campsites. Nine primitive walk-in sites are also available with parking at the camp building. Volunteer campground host site is number 31.

Campground Reservation And Cancellation Policies
Nightly campsite fees are based on location, season, and site amenities. Fees are subject to state and local taxes and are subject to change. Advanced reservations are available prior to arrival, and may be made up to 1 year in advance. There is a non-refundable $5.00 Advanced Reservation Fee per campsite that provides for managing the reservation system at Tennessee State Parks.
Individuals requesting to rent overnight accommodations must be eighteen years of age or older. A parent or an adult must accompany children or individuals under the age of eighteen years. Valid identification may be requested and/or required by park personnel for verification of age.
