Flying Flags RV Resort & amp Campground is a large RV park located to the northwest of Santa Barbara. There is a local winery within walking distance, and the town of Solvang is about five minutes away. Other local attractions include Lake Cachuma and Los Padres National Forest.

  • Know Before You Go Prior to leaving home, check the status of the park unit you want to visit to find out what restrictions and guidelines are in place. Have a back-up plan in case your destination is crowded. Stay home if you are sick
  • Plan Ahead Some restrooms will be temporarily closed to keep up with cleaning schedules. Bring soap/hand sanitizer.
  • Play It Safe Find out what precautions you should take when exploring the outdoors, especially if this is your first time visiting the State Park System. Learn more at parks.ca.gov/SafetyTips.
  • Be COVID-19 Safe State Parks continues to meet guidance from local and state public officials as COVID-19 is still present and still deadly. Effective March 1, 2022, state guidance recommends that all individuals, regardless of vaccine status, continue masking in indoor settings, such as museums and visitor centers. Universal masking remains required in specified high-risk settings. Please plan ahead as local county guidelines may differ from state guidance and visitors are urged to follow county guidelines when required. Read the latest COVID-19 guidance at COVID19.ca.gov.
  • Leave No Trace Leave areas better than how you found them by staying on designated trails and packing out all trash. Do not disturb wildlife or plants.

Tent Trailer And Rv Camping

Jalama Beach County Park maintains 107 campsites, all overlooking the ocean or beachfront. Each site has a picnic table and BBQ pit, with hot showers, restrooms and water nearby. 31 sites offer electrical hookups, and dump stations are available.

Campsites reservations are available online by clicking on the “Make a Reservation!” button on the left. Reservations may be made up to 6 months, to the day, of the check-in date. Keep in mind that summer is our busiest time, and that campsites fill fast. Check-out is 1:00 pm. Campers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

For the safety and enjoyment of all, a maximum of 8 persons and/or 2 vehicles are allowed to be at any single campsite at any time. These limits will be strictly enforced and groups that exceed any of these limits will be required to purchase and set up at an additional campsite. If no additional campsites are available, you may be asked to leave the park. Vehicles MUST be parked at the location of the parking permit.

Failure to comply with park rules can result in a County Notice to Appear Citation with fine and/or eviction. Santa Barbara County Code Chapter 26:

Sec. 26-61- Vehicle parking at campsite. No person shall park, permit, or maintain more than two motor vehicles at any campsite within any county recreation area without the prior authorization of a CSD employee on duty within the area.

Camping At El Capitn State Beach

With more than 100 single-family campsites and multiple group campsites, El Capitán campground can accommodate groups of all sizes. Campsites include a table, fire ring and grill and welcome tents, trailers or motorhomes .* Restrooms, drinking water, coin-operated showers, laundry facilities, picnic areas and a campfire center are all available for use on the campground. Campsites can be reserved April 1 through November 30 and are first-come, first-served the rest of the year.

*Please note, there are no RV hookups.

Stands of oak and sycamore border Sycamore Creek as it trickles down to tide pools on the gorgeous shoreline of El Capitan State Beach. Hiking, biking, snorkeling, and scuba diving are only a few of the diversions at this beach, only 25 minutes to Santa Barbara.

There is a short, but not too steep, set of stairs in the bluff to get from the campground to the shore. Dogs are permitted in the campground but not on the beach. And one other nice feature available here is the facilitys specially adapted beach wheelchair, which makes the beach itself wheelchair-accessible for anyone whoe might need it.
