Surrounded by rich agricultural lands, this region was home to both Native Americans and early pioneers. Buck Creek State Park features a large reservoir for unlimited horsepower boating. An accessible pier adds more options for anglers of all abilities. Hikers and horseback riders will find miles of multi-use trails passing through meadows and wetlands. The park’s overnight accommodations include family vacation cabins and a modern campground.

Outside Buck Creek State Park

Nearby Suiattle River Recreation

The Suiattle River is just a short distance south from the campground, across the Suiattle River Road. This wild and scenic river is considered a classic whitewater destination in the early season and a scenic float later on. From the river one can see wildlife and wonderful eagle watching in late fall. Several near by trails access the Glacier Peak Wilderness leading both day-hikers and backpackers toward the lofty realms, cascading creeks and dense forest lands.

Buck Creek Campground is nestled under a thick canopy of lush old growth forest and offers a primitive setting. Buck Creek, one of the largest tributaries of the Suiattle River, flows to the east of the campground. Its presence will be heard throughout your stay as it cascades down from the mountain to the river below. Hours can be spent just listening and observing the abundant wildlife that call Buck Creek their home.

To get to Buck Creek Campground from Darrington, drive north on SR 530 for about 7 miles, turn right onto the Suiattle River Road, FSR #26. Drive about 16 miles, the campground will be on the left.

Tomorrows Stars Rv Resort

With over 200 sites that include water, sewer, and electrical hookups, you can really spread out at Tomorrows Stars RV Resort. It offers everything an RVer could want after a long journey on the road: restroom facilities with showers, laundry facilities, free Wi-Fi, propane refills, a dog park, a swimming pool to relax by, and more. Buck Creek State Park Campground – Sites 1-74 (Ohio)

We are excited to announce that the online camping reservation system is now live. We encourage advance reservations for RV sites. You reserve by calling the park office or using our new online tool . Primitive camping must be reserved by calling the park office at this time at 256-659-6288.

The campground features 23 campsites with 13 of those being sewer hook-up sites, 4 of those being pull-through sites and 10 of those providing water and electricity. Each of these sites features a 16′ x 60′ concrete camper pad, picnic table, firepit and grill. There are also 11 primitive campsites located within the interior of the campground and more planned for the future. The campground is conveniently located to the new ORV trail. Back country sites are also planned for the future. A bathhouse, separate ADA bathhouse and dump station are provided. Other campground amenities include:

The Best Family Activities At Buck Creek State Park

Buck Creek State Park is a great place to bring friends and family, offering a variety of outdoor experiences. From relaxing boat rides and fishing expeditions to a range of summer and winter sports, this state park delivers family activities year round.

  • Swimming

    Pack the sunscreen and a picnic and head to the 2,400-foot sandy beach for a day of relaxation and fun. Swimming is allowed in the marked areas.

  • Disc golf

    You can compete in disc golf, a fun alternative to the traditional sport, at the Buck Creek course. The targets are already in place to challenge you you’ll just need to bring your own disc.

  • Winter activities

    Visiting Buck Creek State Park is the perfect opportunity to try something new, and there are several options for adventurous winter visitors. Try sledding, cross-country skiing, or ice fishing.

  • Outdoor sports

    Head over to the sports courts for a fun game of volleyball or basketball or take full advantage of the shuffleboard and playground equipment.

  • Stay overnight

    Opt for a night under canvas at the campground and choose from 89 electric and 22 non-electric pitches, or book one of the well-equipped Buck Creek State Park cabins, with air-con, a TV, and an outdoor grill. The campground has its own beach and bike rentals, and it’s pet friendly,

How To Make Camping Reservations:

  • Reservations are taken within the park office during normal business hours or online here. Reservations must be secured with payment for the total stay, plus taxes, and will be charged when reservations are made tent camping must be called in at the office and aren’t currently available online. Primitive camping must be reserved by calling the office.
  • After hours check in’s can occupy an empty site and register the following day at the park office by 10 am.
  • The specific campsite is chosen upon arrival by the customer.
  • All charges are payable by cash or credit , with no checks.
  • Cancellations must be made 72 hours prior to arrival for a deposit refund. Not applicable on group or convention reservations. Two night minimum during the season . Three night minimum is required for Memorial Day, 4th July, and Labor Day.
  • The minimum age to rent a site is 18. A responsible adult must check-in and occupy the site during the entire reservation.
  • One extra tent is allowed on a site only for children under the age of 18 yrs. There will be an additional charge of $5.00 per night plus tax for the 2nd tent.
  • Limit of 8 persons per site – 2 ORVs and trailer.

The ORV trail was the first of its kind for the Alabama State Parks. This endeavor created an exciting new amenity for us and we look forward to learning more from the ORV community. We encourage trail users to give us feedback on the positive and negative aspects of our new trail system.

How To Get Tobuck Creek State Park

Folks headed to Buck Creek State Park will generally either be coming from Dayton or Columbus. Start in Dayton on Ohio Highway 4 North and head toward Columbus. Take I-70 E. Youll exit the I-70 at Exit 59 for OH-41 toward South Charleston. Continue on OH-41 N/State Route 41 N/S Charleston Pike. Take South Bird Road to Buck Creek Lane in Springfield Township. This will take you right into the park.

From Columbus, just take I-70 W OH-54 N in South Vienna. Take Exit 66 from I-70 W. Take Old Columbus Road to Buck Creek Lane in Springfield Township. Its a straight shot into the park from here.

Cancellation & Refund Policy:

Buck Creek State Park Campground

NO refunds will be issued for holidays. Holidays will need to be paid in full at time of booking and will require the nightly minimum to be met in order to book.

Deposits will be non-refundable at time of booking. If cancellation is received 14 days prior to checking in, guest will only lose the non-refundable deposit.

If cancellation is received less than 14 days, guest will be responsible for the remainder of the entire stay. **this will be charged to the card used when making the reservation.

We are not able to control or guarantee the weather, therefore you are responsible for the entire length of the stay you have reserved.

No refunds will be given for late arrivals or early departures, no exceptions.

There are no refunds given due to inclement weather or health-related conditions after the cancellation window or once you have checked in.

Our refund and cancellation policy is firm to ensure that we can provide the best service commitment to you as our guest.

Now, lets get down to the details: our 74 RV sites are currently sprawled across 48 acres of land, with a half-mile frontage set along a beautiful mountain stream. The setting is spacious and peaceful, and many of our customers come from all over the state and country to see what Marion, NC, is truly about.

The Best Hiking Trails At Buck Creek State Park

Learn something new on Buck Creek’s hiking trails. Choose from quick and easy hikes to moderate routes and study the local wildlife, birds, and landscapes along the way. Check out a trail map to plan your route.

  • Lake View Trail

    This moderate 2-mile hike through meadowland and forest is convenient if you’re camping at the park, as it connects its campground, marina, and cottage areas. Look forward to views of the lake and resident wildlife.

  • Buck Creek Trail

    Set out on this multi-purpose trail with scenic views and good connections with other hiking routes in the area. Explore the park, then follow the community trails to the Springfield Museum of Art and nearby parkland.

  • Short trails

    There is a number of shorter trails on site perfect for a leisurely stroll, including two on the western park boundary. The Dam Walk covers 0.64 miles, while the Meadow Trail is 0.30 miles.

Inside Buck Creek State Park

Because the large Clarence J. Brown Reservoir is on-site, water sports are extremely popular at Buck Creek State Park, and there’s a four-lane boat launch, as well as a marina where you can purchase boating and fishing supplies and even dock space if youre going to be staying awhile. Off the water, there are miles of hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails that take you through the rolling hills, wetlands, and forests of the Springfield area.
