What People Are Saying About Saddlehorn Campground

What a wonderful campground! Coming off of a two-month road trip, I felt I had seen enough campgrounds to post a few reviews of my favorites and my not so favorites. This one is definitely a fave. High elevation, so be wary of the possible wind. But overall, such a great location. Bathrooms are so clean, featuring running water! Flushing toilets! All the loops are nice we chose a spot in A loop that had level ground. Plus, Window Rock Trail is just around the bend, which offers a truly amazing view of the canyon. Be sure to stay here if you get the chance! Emma, Google Review

What People Are Saying About Glenwood Canyon Resort

Excellent location right along the river and close to bike trails, which was a big plus for us. Close enough to bike into town but far enough to feel secluded. Facilities are clean and offer free showers and flush toilets. The only negative for us was how close campsites were to one another. The proximity of our neighboring campers and trains passing by kept us up a bit at night. Other than this it was ideal! Forrest, Google Review

Are You Considering Dispersed Camping Near Grand Junction

For some people, the beauty of camping lies in the serene and genuine experience of camping in national forests and dispersed campsites. Boondocking at dispersed campsites just cant be beaten.

While great amenities like a hot shower and a good laundry area are welcome sometimes, camping in the great outdoors can really be appreciated by some if they camp on an undeveloped campground.

If you are considering this, weve prepared some tips to consider:

  • It is free and on a first-come-first-served basis.
  • The rule is to camp about 100-200 feet away from the road and any waterway.
  • If you can still see the next camper, then you may have to move further a little.
  • Bring food and water and fuel
  • Bring out what you bring in
  • Store food properly especially in a bear territory as dispersed camping doesnt come with bear lockers.
