Echo Bluff State Park
Echo Bluff State Park is located just south of Rolla, and takes its name from the scenic cliff that rises on the side of Sinking Creek.
Nature lovers can check off each of the 105 bird species that reside within the confines of Echo Bluff State Park. The park offers visitors the opportunity to get away from the monotony of daily life so youll be able to enjoy fishing, biking and swimming during a visit.
The park also has 74 campsites that range from the primitive to the modern. Additionally, there are nine full-service cabins, and the Betty Lea Lodge is available if youd rather not rough it.

Best Camping In Colorado
Camping is a fun way to connect with nature, especially in the Rocky Mountains. And excellent camping is nearly everywhere in Colorado, with some of the best campsites around. There are countless sites that didnt make this list, which is as good as any. So this list of best Colorado camping spots probably will grow over time.
There is a mix of paid developed campgrounds and undeveloped primitive campsites that are free. Some are just suitable for car camping with tents while others can fit a full fledge travel trailer. So feel free to rent an RV in Denver and head to the high country!

This national scenic byway connects Yampa with Meeker to the west. Free dispersed camping is all over, and there are plenty of campgrounds too. The highlight is Trappers Lake, the third-largest natural lake in Colorado. There are several campgrounds down at Trappers Lake, but no dispersed camping around this Cradle of Wilderness.
Trappers Lake Lodge is open late May through September, and rents out boats, horses, and cabins. It also has a mini general store and restaurant/bar. The first half of the byway is a smooth gravel road, and the second is dirt. Most two-wheel drive cars will be fine.
Dispersed camping is everywhere once you get going on the byway. Most dirt roads will yield a few campsites, with plenty of places right on the byway. The only exception is the Trappers Lake area.

Ozark National Forest Arkansas
Arkansas has loads of countryside that is often overlooked. Here, you’ll find nine beaches, thousands of acres of lakes and streams, and 400 miles of hiking trails. Campers can choose between a number developed campgrounds for RV and tent camping. Several campgrounds and recreational areas are still closed, but some have reopened with restrictions.
Dead Horse Point State Park
This place provides you a spellbinding experience of the tall standing cliffs forming a landscape that will stay in your head forever. Its a desert at high altitude with the highest point being the Dead Horse Point. There are nearly 20 sites here for camping but you would want to be on top of the Dead Horse Point to enjoy the breathtaking views of steep cliffs in this region. Cathedral Caverns State Park Alabama
One of the most unique places for camping in the south is Cathedral Caverns State Park, near Huntsville, which also makes our list for Coolest State Parks in Alabama! This cave-camping experience is not to be missed on a visit to Alabama! Formally called the Bat Cave, and opened as a state park in 2000, this camping adventure is perfect for geology lovers.
Featuring Goliath, one of the largest stalagmites in the world at 127 feet wide and 25 feet high, visitors can also appreciate other natural wonders like a frozen waterfall, a stalagmite forest, and plenty of exquisite cave structures. At 60 degrees year-round, this is the perfect camping spot no matter the season!
Campers can enjoy tent and RV camping spots with access to electrical and water hookups, with no reservations needed. A bathhouse is also available for use. Primitive and backcountry campsites are available on a limited basis, lining the parks extensive hiking trails. Make sure to call ahead for availability if you plan to enjoy one of these sites.

Coral Pink Sand Dunes
As the name tells, this is the place with dunes that appear pink, or maybe they really are pink. Step out of your travel trailers and truck campers to enjoy some off-road riding. The sand dunes appear like a sea of sand with small ripples on them a perfect scene for you to take your cameras out. There are over 15 sites for camping here with only a handful for groups. Picnic tables, showers, drinking water, dumping stations and modern restrooms are available there. Table Rock State Park
Visitors to Branson who want to avoid high hotel costs might opt to camp at nearby Table Rock State Park.
This state park is nestled in the beautiful Ozark Mountains and provides wonderful views of the surrounding natural landscape.
The state park marina is a solid option for water lovers. Ski boats and paddle boards are available for rent.
There is also a premium yurt available for those who are apprehensive about roughing it in a tent or RV.

Things To Do In Or Near The Water
1. Go fishing // Whether its recreational or youre trying to catch dinner, fishing can be a great way to unwind and shed the stresses of life. Grab your rod, fishing line, sunglasses, waders, a beer, and some buddies and spend a few hours enjoying the serenity of the water.
2. Go swimming // Put on your swimsuit and hit the shores of your favorite lake or ocean. Jump off the dock or pier, use a noodle, float in the water, or have all-out races to the buoy.
3. Go snorkeling // This camping activity works best with bodies of water that arent too murky, which makes it perfect for camping near the ocean! I know its a long shot here but if youre ever in Hawaii, theres some great camping and snorkeling on Oahus world famous North Shore. In particular, check out Pupukea Beach Park.
4. Canoeing, tubing, kayaking, bodyboarding, surfing, or other local watersports // No beach camping activity list would be complete without mentioning the local watersports. Canoeing, tubing, and kayaking are the big ones, but your campground may also offer bodyboarding, surfing, jet skiing, kite surfing, or standup paddleboarding. Make sure you use a kayak roof rack to safely transport your kayak.
5. Skip rocks // Youre never too old to skip rocks! It can even be a fun competition to see who can get the most skips or the furthest distance. I distinctly remember getting 11 skips once as a kid .

Hop a plane with your carry-on full of camping gear and take advantage of Puerto Ricos year-round mild temperature and diverse ecosystems. Upon arrival on the tropical island, stop at a roadside stall or kiosko to pick up food and other necessities, and head toward one of Puerto Ricos remote beaches for a coastal camping adventure. Crater Lake National Park Oregon
This park is home to the United State’s deepest lake and a sleeping volcano, so there are plenty of photo opportunities for nature lovers. Campers can choose between Mazama and Lost Creek campgrounds. And yes, there’s also backcountry camping with a permit. Park information centers are currently closed, and some activities are canceled although the park has reopened, but the park has not announced an opening date for the campgrounds, which usually open for the season in June or July.

There are a few campgrounds along the shore of the Salton Sea, but its generally agreed that New Camp is the best for its views, amenities, and proximity to the main trails and sites.

St Peters 370 Lakeside Park
The 370 Lakeside Park is a 300-acre park located in St. Peters.
The campground has a 140-acre lake for all sorts of water recreation. Boating and fishing are common sources of fun. Gas engines are prohibited, but that still leaves plenty of options for floating on the lake.
Those who come with an RV can access one of the 75 RV hookups that are available onsite.

Acadia National Park Maine
Located on Mount Desert Island, Acadia National Park is the Pine Tree State’s natural jewel. The park boasts 17 million acres of forest, 6,000 lakes and ponds, and 32,000 miles of rivers and streams to offer a scenic backdrop to your hiking and camping. The park has three campgrounds to set up your tent: Blackwoods , Seawall , and Schoodic Woods .
