List Of Californias State Parks With Rv Facilities

The state parks in these lists are generally listed from Northwest to Southeast

Our experience with California state parks was mixed. Some were run down, expensive, and not nearly as nice as the cheaper county run parks that we stayed at around the state. Others, specifically the ones on the ocean, were true gems among the crowded and crazy expensive private RV parks.

California State Parks with Full Hookups

  • Woodson Bridge State Recreation Area
  • Folsom Lake State Recreation Area
  • Brannan Island State Recreation Area
  • Lake Del Valle State Recreation Area
  • San Luis Reservoir State Recreation Area
  • Millerton Lake State Recreation Area
  • Dockweiler State Beach

One of the most rugged, beautifully mountainous states in the nation, Colorado is home to 42 state parks, 31 of which have some type of camping available.

While everyone thinks of the Rockies, Colorado offers landscapes from desert to prairie. In general, the parks are pretty minimal: sewer hookups are rare, and most parks dont even have water at your site. Typically, theres a place to fill up a jug of water near your site to replenish your RVs tanks, and a sewer dump that requires hooking up and taking a drive. Note that many of the states parks are primitive camping only, meaning there are no hookups whatsoever, and those that do have water often turn it off in the colder months .

What Is The Best Rv Length For National Parks

If you are going to purchase an RV for your many upcoming travels, you want to ensure that you can take it places you want to go to. Many people dream of touring the national parks across the country.

They want to see the very best that nature has to offer. There is no better way to do that than to immerse yourself in it by spending a few days at their on-site campgrounds.

When you plan to visit the national parks, you should make sure that you purchase an RV that can fit into these campsites. What size RV is the best length for national park visits?

You can take the safe route and go with a very small RV measuring under twenty feet. However, many people wish they could go for more space. A larger RV can hold more beds and simply provides more legroom for passengers who might be cooped up inside on a rainy day during your vacation.

The best thing to do is to survey the national parks you want to visit.

List Of New York State Parks With Rv Camping

State Parks with RV Hookups Available

New York state parks are spacious and scenic all of the ones we stayed at were located alongside lakes with easy access to all sorts of fun water activities. The one thing that got us down about these parks was the extra out of state fee. It made us feel a bit unwelcome and jacked the price up higher than your typical state park.

While the NY state parks were nice, none that we stayed at had that feel of a truly special place. We did stay at two parks in the Finger Lakes region which is really pretty part of the state. Keuka Lake State Park was our favorite because the sites were enormous with lots of trees.

  • Cedar Point State Park
  • Golden Hill State Park
  • Taconic / Copake Falls

To that end, we toured extensively through the mountains of New England and the Great Lakes, certain wed find some perfect place in of those two locations.
