All participants on our guided camping excursions can expect to be fully emmersed in the backcountry experience, including horsecare, saddle-up, cooking, packing, and camp setup and breakdown. Riders will enjoy trailblazing the prestine wilderness in the undiscovered country, and witnessing majestic wildlife in their own Rocky Mountain habbitat. Trips can be scheduled from two to six nights and must be booked at two or more weeks in advance. Availabiliy of cabins based on early reservations with deposit. Overnight trips are available May through September, but not during major holidays.
Cabin Excursions

For those who enjoy touring the backcountry on horseback but still want the comfort of a bed and a hot shower, we recommend our cabin tours.

Private cabins are availble for your western adventure. Most cabins include bunkbeds, kitchens, living space, bathrooms, and running water. Booking and deposit are typically required at least 30-days in advance. Your itinerary and meals will be customized to your group’s schedule and wishes.

Camping At Angel Fire Resort

Angel Fire Resort offers camping conveniently located near the base of the mountain, at the Southwest corner of Vail and Squaw Valley for $15 per night, per tent space. Boating: We are known for our quiet and cold waters. Morning is an ideal time to kayak, paddle board, row or canoe. Motorized boats are welcome and wakes are allowed. State regulations require motor boats to stay at least 150 ft from shoreline fisherman, other vessels and other water activities.

Fishing: This lake is regularly stocked with trout and salmon, but is also good for Northern Pike and Yellow Perch. Anglers can fish from the banks or by boat. Ice fishing is available in the winter.

The Village of Angel Fire is excited to provide the opportunity for you and your family to enjoy the freedom of using Off-Highway Vehicles inside the village limits of Angel Fire. However, this must be seen as a partnership between you and the Village. Understandably there are restrictions on where, how and when you can take advantage of this opportunity. Please know and understand these restrictions and guidelines so that you may enjoy hours of OHV fun. Some of the Village rules are more restrictive than what are allowed in the Carson National Forest.
