Forest Road 525 Outside Sedona Arizona

Known as the Main Drag, this popular dispersed camping site is easy to find just off of 89A in between Sedona and Cottonwood, Arizona. The road is dirt and washboard, so prepare for some bouncing. Overall, its relatively doable for almost any size rig coming in if you take it slow.
There are spaces for tent campers and nearly every size rig here, including Class As. Cell signals go in and out depending on where you camp and your service, so if you need it, just drive to a different spot.
If you need a quick overnight, then find a spot amidst the many other RVers towards the beginning of the road. If you plan on staying for a while then drive in further. The first five or six miles offer various sites, and the further in you go, the better the views. This area is famous for its red rocks, and this boondocking spot in Arizona is one of the best places to experience natural beauty.
With hiking, biking, and OHV trails nearby, the weekends here are pretty busy. Sedona and all the surrounding mountain towns are not far, so Forest Road 525 offers a great home base for many different people. And with that many people comes a lot of dust, red dust, that coats everything. But Id say the views, the activities and the beauty here are all worth any red dust.

Within White Mountain National Forests 750,000 acres, youll find nearly endless woodlands, alpine lakes, and the highest mountain in the Northeast.
There are also 48 4Kers within New Hampshires White Mountain National Forest. Many visitors come here repeatedly to bag all 48 summits, but its not just peakbagging thatll lure you to the White Mountains.
You can fish in the parks dozens of lakes or visit a gorge carved by ancient molten rock and constant erosion. You can also check out some Polar Ice Caves in the dead of summer to beat the heat, or swing by Story Land or head up the Cog Railway to the summit of Mount Washington if you need a break from sweating for one day.
The White Mountains are also known to occasionally have some of the worst weather in the country, so watch the forecast. Mount Washington has clocked wind speeds up to 231 mph and at least 135 people have died trying to make it to the summit. So come prepared with the right gear if youre going to be on mountain summits. And while youre unlikely to have winds that strong at your campsite, youll still want some stakes and extra layers to sleep in.
Grab an interagency pass before heading out so you can snag some discounted entry fees. Make sure to also buy a New Hampshire Hike Safe Card to ensure youll be set in case of emergency.

Mittry Lake Dispersed Camping In Yuma Arizona

Mittry Lake, just outside of Yuma, Arizona, is a beautiful oasis in the middle of acres upon acres of agricultural fields. The road is gravel but provides easy access, and any rig could make it in without any issues.
Along the entrance road, there are a few spots to pull off and camp. The further in your drive, as you get closer to the lake, the areas become limited to allow for day use. However, as you access the lake, a couple of camps sites are explicitly for overnight use. While many campers parked quite close here, the lake is also within sight, along with some of the cleanest vault toilets we have ever seen.
If youre not so inclined to camp with so many other RVers, keep driving down the road, and there are more pull-outs to give you more privacy with Mother Nature. The lake amidst the desert views offers stunning desert sunsets that light up the skies. But if you require internet to work while camping, note the cell service is quite spotty here, if it exists at all.
Show Low Lake Campground

Campers heading to Eastern Arizona should consider making a stop at this charming lakeside campground. Show Low Lake Campground is at 6,500 feet elevation on the banks of a 100-acre lake, and its sites among the trees offer a tranquil camping experience.
The site is equipped with useful amenities such as electric hookups, a dump station, showers, a playground, and a seasonal convenience store where you can rent boats and pick up a fishing license. This White Mountains Arizona camping spot is a comfortable place to stay as you explore a beautiful part of the country.

Cutthroat Campground: Tent Camping
- Cutthroat Campground sits on the shoreline of Big Lake with some sites directly on the waterfront.
- No RVs are allowed, this is a small 18 campsite tent-only campground, most sites are walk-in and offer no parking directly at the campsite.
- This campground offers basic amenities including restrooms, picnic tables and drinking water.
- A store is also nearby with gas, food, boat rentals and firewood for sale.

Rainbow Campground: Rv & Tent Camping
- The facility features six paved-road loops with a total of 165 camp sites. Four double sites are available that can accommodate up to 16 people each. These are popular with larger families and groups. Two single unit accessible sites are also available. There are campground hosts.
- Some sites can accommodate motorhomes up to 32 feet.
- Sites have fire rings, grills and picnic tables.
- Water, sewer and electric hookups are not available at this campground.

Black Canyon Rim Campground

Sitting within a dense forest of towering ponderosa pines two and a half miles from Black Canyon Lake, Black Canyon Rim Campground is a popular spot with people traveling the General Crook National Recreation Trail.
Although the campground is easy to get to, the sites are secluded and private, making for a peaceful experience. The sense of being in the wild is enhanced by the regular sightings of a herd of wild horses that captivates campers. The flat sandy ground is ideal for setting up tents, and the campground has all the necessary facilities.

Plomosa Road In Quartzsite Arizona

Only a ten-minute drive north of Quartzsite, Plomosa Road offers ease of access to camping and town. With thousands of spots available here, youll have no problem finding a campsite. Most cell service plans also work well out here. Mountains are off in the distance for your viewing pleasure. The cactus is gorgeous and abundant, so watch your furry friends.
Some of the best desert sunrises and sunsets take place here every day. The road is well maintained and accessible for all types of rigs to maneuver in and around.
If you dont know Quartzsite, this area is home to thousands, if not millions, of snowbirds every year. Home also to the Desert Gardens Rock, Gem & Mineral Show, and The Big Tent Show, one of the largest RV shows in the nation, you dont want to miss Quartzsite. There are hundreds of other vendors selling everything from firewood to gems to books to almost anything you can imagine.
Quartzsite and the surrounding Bureau of Land Management lands have thousands of spaces for all types of RVers. You wont find anything quite like this anywhere else in the U.S. If you want to experience Quartzsite in all its glory, be here in January and stay a few months. If you visit during late spring and summer, youll be lonely and hot as everyone has headed north.
Apache Trout Campground: Rv & Tent Camping
- Apache Trout is the only campground within the Big Lake Recreation Area that offers full hookups and 50 amp power. Flush toilets and shower facilities offer additional convenience.
- The Apache Trout facility has 124 camp sites and 24 accessible sites. There are 22 double sites. One group camping site that can accommodate 50 people, another that can accommodate 100 people.
- There are 41 electrical full hook up sites and 81 non-electrical sites.
- Some sites can accommodate motorhomes up to 82 feet.
- Some sites can accommodate trailers up to 20 feet wide and 82 feet long.
- This campground is not located on Big Lake but it is a short walk to reach it.
- All reservations must be made at least four days ahead of arrival. You can try for a walk-up site with no advanced notice. For the group sites, reservations can be made up to 12 months in advance. For standard sites, reservations can be made up to 6 months in advance.

Putters Paradise RV Park is in a foothills location adjacent to a golf course in Snowflake, Arizona, near the Snowflake Latter-day Saints Temple. Pine Flat RV and Campground is located in a lush, heavily wooded area. It offers visitors campfire rings, firewood, picnic tables, and cooking grills, along with restrooms and accessible drinking water for a comfortable yet authentic off-grid camping experience.
Many of the campsites are located off the banks of Oak Creek for pleasant swimming, wildlife viewing, fishing, stargazing, and photography opportunities. The campground does not offer shower facilities, so youll need to be comfortable roughing it for the duration of your stay.
Great spaces, well maintained, friendly host, and a small river to the west adds to the experience. There is a natural spring not far from the exit that has some very good clean drinking water. Ill stay there again.Robert R.

Arizona offers visitors and locals a variety of activities. From the northern area of Sedona, Cottonwood, Jerome, Prescott, and Flagstaff, the outdoor activities seem endless. The red rocks that define Sedona and the vortexes known for their spiritual powers provide miles upon miles of hiking.
