Cedar Lake Recreation Site
Please be advised that due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, camping at Cedar Lake Recreation Site will continue to be dependent on Provincial health restrictions and may change on short notice.
Cedar Lake Recreation Site is located on a forested bench above the Columbia River, near Golden, in Kicking Horse Country. The campground and day-use areas are set within the larger Moonraker Recreation Area, a rugged forested mountain environment and home to Rocky Mountain wildlife.
The 22-site primitive campground is perfect for tenting and 4×4 campers a few sites accommodate larger RV units. The Campground is open May 1 to October 15 annually and is pet-friendly. The beaches and picnic areas are lakeside with separate parking and a vault toilet. Sites are available on a first come, first serve basis no reservations accepted. Please contact Trina at .
Hopewell Trail And Equestrian Camping
Trail users can access the 12.5 mile Hopewell Trail at Plowman Creek Park. This centrally-located trailhead allows hikers, mountain bikers and equestrian riders easy access to the trail, and an option to explore one-half of the trail for shorter visits. Visitors can choose to travel north on the trail to Kimball Bend Park, or head south to Lakeside Village and Powelldale Mountain. Overnight equestrian camping is also available adjacent to the trailhead. Campers can choose from 10 RV campsites or primitive camping in the equestrian area.

Cedar Point Provincial Park

Cedar Point Provincial Park Class C, is located at 6013 Cedar Creek Road in Likely. The park is situated on Quesnel Lake, approximately five kilometres from the town of Likely in a bay close to the mouth of Quesnel Lake, the deepest fjord lake in North America. Enjoy the experience of camping in an old growth Cedar Grove.
Likely is situated in an inland rainforest area on Quesnel Lake in the foothills of the Cariboo Mountains. It is where the back road to Barkerville begins. The Quesnel Forks restoration site, as well as the Bullion Pit, draws history buffs. There are an abundance of Rec sites and a wealth of historical areas and information to enrich our understanding of early settlements in the area.
Old growth cedars are located throughout the park including the campground area.
- Quesnel Lake offers spectacular scenery and excellent swimming, boating, and fishing. It includes the only paved boat launch in the area and new docks and a new deeper boat launch area .
- Cedar Point Provincial Park, is a Class C park and operated by a board from Likely. This park is occupied year round by a member of the board.
- The park offers a unique outdoor mining museum featuring mock shafts, adits and antique mining machinery.
- Cedar City Museum offers maps and information on day trips and attractions of the area. A helpful staff is ready and willing to offer advice during the peak season June to September.
West Shore Rv Resorts
Pine Gardens RV Park in Tool has RV sites with full hookups, with daily or monthly rates available. Other accommodation options include primitive or electric tent sites, yurts and one- or two-story cabins. Among the park’s recreational amenities are a boat launch, fishing pier, an outdoor swimming pool with waterfall, volleyball court and horseshoes. Other features include available Wi-Fi, an RV dump station, a restroom, shower and laundry facilities. The park allows small pets. Lakeshore Senior RV Resort in Seven Points rents full hookup sites by the month only and does not accept overnight or weekend guests. The pet-friendly park includes a boat dock and fishing pier on Cedar Creek Lake, a clubhouse, 24-hour security and Wi-Fi in some spots. Cable television and telephone service also is available.

With a surface area of 32,873 acres when full, Cedar Creek Reservoir in Texas provides a variety of water-based recreation including boating, water-skiing, swimming and fishing. Anglers can drop their lines in search of catfish, crappie and a variety of bass including largemouths, whites and striped hybrids. After a beautiful day on the creek and maybe a dip or two in the water, who needs a soggy bottom as you drive home on the GSP? Not you! Thats why anyone renting a Kayak or Canoe is welcome to use our showers at the end of the day. So go ahead, freshen up and put on some nice dry clothes. OR, make a day and a night of it and head out to the boardwalk for more fun!

What To Wear What To Bring
Water is wet! There, we went and said it! Wearing clothes that do not dry quickly is NOT a good idea! And the creek is that famous tea color, so bringing your car keys is NOT a good idea either! If you go into the drink, theyll go with you and we dare you to find them!
Heres our best advice for a happy day on the creek:
- Wear a bathing suit or athletic shorts and top that dry quickly.
- Wear water shoes or old sneakers because creek beds are filled with stones, sticks and the like. Its best to have something on your feet.
- Bring a hat and sun screen
- If you wear glasses, we suggest picking up a pair of Croakies to hold them to your head. You can find croakies at athletic stores or in our gift shop. Or wear contacts.
- A day on the creek gets everyone hungry, there are plenty of places for a picnic lunch. We suggest:
- Packing sandwiches in double ziplock bags and putting them in a small cooler
- Bringing water for drinking
REMEMBER: there are no trash cans along the way, so what you bring in, you must bring out. Plastic water bottles and the like are hazardous to wildlife.

East Shore Rv Resorts
Two major campgrounds lie along Cedar Creek Lake’s southeast shoreline near Malakoff. Caney Cove Resort, a family owned and operated resort, has 65 lakeside RV sites with full hookups, with some sites directly on the waterfront. Monthly rates are available. The shaded sites also include a barbecue grill and picnic table, with an RV dump station, a restroom, shower and laundry facilities nearby. Other amenities include a fishing pier, swimming area and nearby boat ramp. The resort also has furnished rental cabins with kitchenettes that sleep eight. Cherokee Landing has lakeside RV and tent campsites, plus other accommodations such as the Eagle’s Nest lodge, a two-bedroom lakeside cabin, a 30-foot rental trailer, one-bedroom kitchenettes and standard motel rooms. Other amenities include a bathhouse, boat launch, boat rentals and fishing dock.

Recreation sites and trails are located in BCs natural forests. By following the guidelines outlined in this section, we can protect our forests for generations to come.
Take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints. Leave No Trace
When using recreation sites, users are encouraged to strive for no trace camping. In other words, when you leave a site, it should be in no worse condition than when you came. What you bring to a site, you take home with you PACK-IN, PACK-OUT. This includes biodegradable scraps such as fruit peelings as they will likely not decompose before the next group of campers uses the site.
When using recreation trails, it is important to stay on designated trails only to protect the surrounding ecosystem.
Here are seven principles of Leave No Trace use that we strive for at our recreation sites and trails:

Cedar Creek: A Truly Unique Paddling Experience For Newbies And Experienced Paddlers Alike
Heres what makes Cedar Creek so unique:
First, theres the water color. Its tea colored because of tannic acid from the roots of the cedars lining the river banks. A canopy of trees covers you as you paddle.
Then there is the flow: You wont see a riff of white water, but you will experience a strong, steady current, flowing through twists and turns and jug handle bends. Canoeing teams will test their skills and their relationships anticipating each twist in the river.
And then there is the ecological function of Cedar Creek: From its headwaters in Greenwood Forest Management Area to its mouth at Barnegat Bay, Cedar Creek provides the water required for cranberry culture and supplies a pure source of water for wildlife. Adjacent bogs and uplands provide examples of plants characteristic to the Pine Barrens. Almost 89% of the Cedar Creek drainage area is forested land. Habitats of this waterway, typical to the Pine Barrens, include Atlantic white cedar swamps, bogs , pine and oak forests, and coastal salt marshes. Throughout this beautiful watershed, you will find wildlife and unique plant species.
