There is no end to the fun activities you can enjoy at the attractions surrounding our RV park and resort. Our RV park and resort is centrally located between many award-winning beaches. Spa Beach is located nearby to the southeast of the park and has amazing views. It also has Vinoy Park right next to it, and just a short walk will bring you to the Salvador Dali Museum which always impresses.

Fort De Soto, St. Pete Beach, and Caledesi Island State Park are just a few of the other nearby beaches that have been awarded Best Beach, which makes visiting them a MUST.

Primitive Camping At Shell Key Preserve:

All Shell Key campers are required to obtain a Shell Key Camping Permit. Permits will be available for $6 per day, with a limit of 6 guests for each permit. Campers must be listed on the permit. A vessel registration is required.

Camping permit does not include the Fort De Soto boat ramp / beach parking fee.

Please respect and appreciate the wonderful natural resource of Shell Key Preserve. Shell Key Preserve is a sensitive environmental area and good stewardship is required to ensure that the islands and waterways remain intact for future generations. It is really important to follow the Shell Key Rules, since through your actions, Shell Key Preserve can remain a welcoming place for generations to come.

A “leave no trace” camping ethic is expected at all times from visitors to the preserve. Access to Shell Key is by watercraft only. There are no facilities at Shell Key Preserve, and campers are required to bring, use and remove portable toilets. Camping is allowed only in the southernPublic Use Area. Within this designated area, there are no defined campsites so visitors are free to select a camping location of their choice. Alcohol, pets, littering, nudity, fireworks and excessive noise are prohibited at all times in the Preserve.

This resort sits next to the Double Branch Creek, only minutes away from downtown Tampa, and about 20 minutes from Clearwater and the beach. With so many attractions and events to see in this small area, it will be hard to see them all. There are museums, sports stadiums, fine-dining restaurants, oceanfront activities and so much more.

Caladesi Island State Park

Caladesi Island State Park is a Florida State Park on an undeveloped barrier island accessible only by boat or a ferry from Honeymoon Island State Park. It includes three miles of sandy beaches with opportunities to fish, swim, sunbathe and beachcomb. Beach chair, umbrella and kayak rentals and a shower house are available on the island. Visitors will find beach dunes, a maritime hammock and a mangrove forest, as well as bird and turtle nesting sites. A three-mile nature trail traverses wildlife areas, and a kayak trail winds through the mangroves. The island is open for boat camping only at the marina, which has electricity and water hook-ups, a snack bar and gift shop. Pets are welcome overnight at the marina but are not permitted off-leash or on the beaches to protect the bird and turtle nesting sites.

  • Campers are advised to protect their personal property.
  • Check-in time is after 1 p.m. Check-out time is 11 a.m. Please be considerate of others by checking out on time.
  • Quiet time is at 10 p.m. All unregistered guests must leave the camp area at that time.
  • The front gate entrance is locked from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Please obtain the combination when you check in.
