What People Are Saying About Hitchin Post Rv Park & Motel

Truck Camping near Las Vegas for FREE to escape the heat

Stayed here for one night on a stop over on to Zion. The staff was friendly, the park was clean, excellent WiFi coverage, and the kids loved the pool which was refreshing on a 110 degree day. The views of the campground are not exciting, but for the price, it was an excellent stay. Alex, Google Review

Best Primitive Camping Spots In America

One of the reasons to love primitive camping over other varieties is its low cost. This stripped-down version of camping can save you money, since you will need a lot less equipment to get up close to nature: just a sleeping bag, sleeping pad, backpack and other necessities such as food, first-aid and water purification tablets. For car camping or glamping, however, the additional purchases can quickly add up. If you buy a tent, camping chairs, firewood, camp stove, cookware and a cooler, you could spend upwards of $400 more to camp in style.

Primitive camping does have its own considerations and costs, though, and many camping spots will require a permit or charge a fee to adventure-seekers staying overnight. To help you better plan your primitive camping trip, here are the 10 best places to primitive camp in the U.S., along with location details you should know before packing up and heading out.

Where To Stay If Campgrounds Are Full Or The Weather Is Bad

One of the things that can easily throw a wrench into your camping plans, particularly if you are tent camping, are heavy winds, which tend to crop up from time to time around Las Vegas. Even on sunny days, you can sometimes see winds of 50 to 80 miles per hour, and this can wreak havoc on tents.

If you want to temporarily abandon your camping plans, you can find reasonably priced accommodation in Las Vegas. Prices vary greatly depending on whether or not major conventions or events are taking place in the city during your stay.

  • If you want to step up a level and treat yourself, The Palazzo at the Venetian Resort offers spacious suites and luxury amenities, but is also usually quite affordable.
  • Budget Hotels: For budget hotels, your best option is to avoid the Las Vegas Strip and find a hotel 10 to 15 minutes away. One of the best budget hotels, which also has a little character, is the Main Street Station Hotel, near the downtown Fremont Street area. This economical train-themed hotel offers comfortable and spacious rooms. If you really want to be on the Strip, try the trendy LINQ Hotel, with smaller rooms but a prime location near the Ferris wheel on the LINQ.
