This park is home to the United State’s deepest lake and a sleeping volcano, so there are plenty of photo opportunities for nature lovers. Campers can choose between Mazama and Lost Creek campgrounds. And yes, there’s also backcountry camping with a permit. Park information centers are currently closed, and some activities are canceled although the park has reopened, but the park has not announced an opening date for the campgrounds, which usually open for the season in June or July.

Dockweiler Beach RV Park is the only RV campground on the beach in Los Angeles County and its easily accessible off Interstate 105 at the Imperial Highway exit. Its close to the shops and restaurants of Marina del Rey and Santa Monica, as well as Venice with its outrageous beach scene and 16 miles of canals.

Boaters and trout hunters may flock to this 80-site campground in the Rocky Mountains for its idyllic locale beside Dillon Reservoir, but Peak One is also a little known paradise for cyclists. With more than 50 miles of the Summit County Recreation Pathway System at its doorstep, there are seemingly endless scenic routes to discover. Pedal the 18.7-mile loop ride along the lake, bike 15 minutes to the picturesque town of Frisco, sweat off the smores on a 13-mile ride with a 1,500-foot climb from Frisco Marina to the top of Vail Pass, or enjoy neighboring Frisco Bike Park’s dirt jumps, pump track, and dual slalom courses. You might not be able to linger for the full 14 days allowed without an electrical hookup, but this is dry camping at its finest.

This is a park that exists because of tourism related to the lake it surrounds. The Lake Del Valle can be freely used for any water sports or activities. You are able to fish, drive boats, and any other water activity you can think of.

The campsite is fairly close to the lake, the main attraction of the park. There is also wilderness surrounding the park and lake that can be explored and hiked. The main attraction is the lake, but the hiking trails are nothing to be scoffed at.

This campsite has a curfew and full hook-ups for RVs.

The campgrounds have full hook-up sites, with running water, electricity, and sewage pipes for your RV. There are even public flush bathrooms and showers that are cleaned regularly.

There is a curfew of 10 PM, and although people are allowed to leave after 10 PM, the camper will not be able to enter until 8 AM the next day.

Overnight fees are $30 for a primitive site. For a full hookup site, the cost is $40.

Located in Advocate Harbour, Nova Scotia Cape Chignecto Provincial Park is one of the most beautiful places to camp in Nova Scotia. The park juts out into the Bay of Fundy with the worlds highest tides flowing by its 185metre sea cliffs each day. There are eight great hiking trails in the park including one that leads you to the iconic Three Sisters sea stacks that are not to be missed.

On site there are 92 campsites that are all walk in with 12 of them being accessible only by kayak. The kayak sites are located in Seal Cove and Refugee Cove. There are also three cabins and one bunkhouse available to rent. The rest of the campsites are a mix of walk-in and backcountry campsites where you need to hike in. The backcountry sites are a bit more physically challenging to get to so be prepared. The New Yarmouth site however is an easy walk-in campsite.

For the extreme hikers the park also offers a 55km coastal loop trail of the whole park which is rated as difficult. It is also recommend that you camp for 3 nights in the park to complete this hike. Day one hike from the Red Rock visitor centre to Refugee Cove . Day two hike from Refugee Cove to Big Bald Rock or continue onto Seal Cove . On day three hike Seal Cove to Eatonville and on the final day Eatonville back to the visitor centre .

We have camped several times at the Koomer Ridge Camp ground but it had been at least 10 years since we had and it is almost frozen in time. Great camp ground with simple amenities, water available without having to walk miles and miles.
