Little Buffalo State Park

Blue Spring State Park – Manatee Watching

Newport, Pennsylvania

If wandering around with your dog, walking through covered bridges, and playing in a creek sound good, this place is for you! This is a small campground, and not many conveniences are nearby, so make sure to have your supplies before arriving. Walk around the lake, take some pictures by a historic mill and walk the trails! The staff here at Little Buffalo State Park were helpful and welcoming of our dogs, and we truly felt relaxed.

Fort Pickens Campground Of Gulf Shores

Pensacola, Florida

Fort Pickens Campground is on Santa Rosa Island, a part of the Gulf Islands National Seashore south of Pensacola and Gulf Breeze, Florida. This is a pristine and protected area, and we felt quite privileged to be able to bring our dogs here. Although they are not allowed on the beach within the campground, there is a dog friendly beach just a short drive outside of the park. The main draw for us here was the history and being able to learn so much with our dogs right by our side. The campground gets booked quickly, so plan ahead, and be sure and reserve a shaded site.

Camping World To Lease Vacant Car Dealership

by RVBusiness | Nov 8, 2012

The big, abandoned car dealership on Interstate 95 in Jacksonville, Fla., is going to get a tenant. Camping World Inc. will move in next spring, opening an RV dealership.

The Florida Times-Union reported that its been more than three years since the plans to open a multi-dealership auto complex stalled. Construction began on the Jacksonville Auto Mall in 2008. But after the first building went up, construction stopped. And that one building, which was supposed to be a Hyundai dealership, was never occupied. It all just sat.

Fred Hassan of Jacksonville bought the 12.9 acres recently for $700,000 and will lease it to Camping World. Hassan used to own Suncoast RV, with 15 locations. He sold eight of them to Camping World and the rest to other companies.

It needs a lot of work, he said. Ill probably spend a couple million to get it the tenants specs.

Along with the Jacksonville location, Hassan is tearing down a shopping center along Interstate 75 south of Valdosta to make room for another Camping World dealership.

Camping World is the countrys largest RV and accessories dealer, with close to 90 locations nationwide, said Matt Bateh, general manager in Jacksonville. Locally, it has stores in St. Augustine and another store on Beach Boulevard in Jacksonville, but business is doing well enough to warrant a third location, he said.

Valley Of Fires Recreation Area

StageCoach RV Park

Carrizozo, New Mexico

Four miles west of the Town of Carrizozo in New Mexico on US 380, Valley of Fires Recreation Area is an unexpected camping destination adjacent to a lava flow! Yes, A lava flow! The lava flow is considered to be one of the youngest flows in the U.S., and you can camp near it with your dog. Not many travelers know about this place, and its a perfect place for stargazing. This campground has elevated views and a nature trail that Brickle and Digby loved. The nature trail is quite easy on their paws as it is paved. But be careful going off of the trail, as lava can be very hard on their feet.

Anyone who has visited Florida, especially in the summer months knows how hot and humid it gets. It sometimes feels like you canât cool off no matter what you do. That is why we love springs. With waters at a constant 72 degrees, they are very crisp and refreshing places to take a cooling dip. Spending some time at one of the Jacksonville springs is not only relaxing but will be one of the cooler days you spend in Florida.

Florida isnât really known for its springs. You might be surprised to learn that Florida has the largest collection on earth with over 700. This is due to the natural underground aquifer, the limestone and dolomite rocks that are easily dissolved.

These springs become their own little ecosystems with interesting animal life, wildlife, rock formations, and wildlife forming around them. However, springs were the original tourist attraction in this region and were once what drove people to Florida in the 18th/early 19th century.

He submitted to warranty for a replacement. Josh came to us in his mobile truck, which was so much easier than driving the RV to service. His personality and workmanship are spot on. He is friendly, quick, and answered all my questions clearly and without a hurry. Josh brought another service tech, Zane, and he was friendly and helpful as well. I also worked with Wendy and Amanda from the service department. Both are extremely helpful. I hope if or when we need service again, we are near Jacksonville and can request Josh and Zane. More

Weve stayed at Lopez Lake campground twice on our trips around the USA. Although out of the way, it feels like exactly where you are meant to be. Ground squirrels by our campsite were better entertainment than television! The wildlife here is abundant but so are the views of Lopez Lake. Hike with your dogs on one of the many trails, and stop by the visitor center to say hello to some of the nicest staff we have met. The dogs may love them for the treats.
