Rock Creek Campground At The Oregon Coast
Located within Siuslaw National Forest, the Rock Creek Campground is another great family-friendly campground at the Oregon Coast. Each site is equipped with a campfire ring and picnic tables. Vault toilets and running water are also available.
Birding and fishing is the name of the game at this lovely campground. Bring the family and enjoy a relaxing weekend camping at the Oregon Coast! The Cape Perpetua Visitor Center is a few miles north of this campground and is absolutely worth a visit!

Jesse M Honeyman State Park
An underrated part of the Oregon coast is the dramatic sand dunes you can ride on with dune buggys . Honeyman State Park has miles of sand dunes between the campground and ocean, hiking trails and shoreline along two freshwater lakes.
The park has a huge campground with over 350 sites for tents and RVs. Amenities include full hookups, a dump station, and hot showers.

Have Fun Dispersed Camping On The Oregon Coast
Unfortunately, free beach camping on the Oregon Coast is seemingly a thing of the past.
For example, the popular Bastendorff Beach near Coos Bay, once home to a tiny speck of BLM land for dispersed camping, is now day-use only.
But, even though free beach camping is likely out of the picture , there are still several free campsites to choose from that are located 30 to 45 minutes from the coast.

Sunset Bay State Park Campground

Sunset Bay State Park is known for calm waters thanks to the bay that protects the area from harsh coastal weather conditions.
The Sunset Bay State Park Campground is located right next to the beach and is a great option for anyone interested in exploring Coos Bay.
The campground offers accommodations for tent campers, RVs and hikers/bikers and great amenities like hot showers, flushing toilets and running water.

Is Dispersed Camping Allowed In Oregon
Yes, dispersed camping is allowed in Oregon and can be a wonderful way to explore the state. Dispersed camping is allowed in the state and national forests year-round, and the state does not require a permit or prior permission to do so.
While the Forest Service campgrounds in Oregon typically offer amenities such as fire rings, picnic tables, and in some cases plumbing, dispersed camping means you will not have access to any of these features.
Dispersed camping in Oregon is truly an adventure. While this type of camping does require extra know-how and experience, it can be a wonderful way to enjoy free camping in Oregon.
Campers are required to follow the Leave No Trace guidelines. These include regulations such as camping on bare soil rather than vegetation, keeping your campsite a minimum distance of 200 feet away from any water source, and removing all trash and debris from the site when you leave.
National Forests And Blm Land
The best option for free camping near the beach is in the manynational forests along the shore. The Siuslaw, Rogue-River Siskiyou, andTillamook State Forests are all located along the coast. There are a fewdispersed camping sites within these areas. Camping is also allowed along theforest roads if you can find a pullout suitable for your rig.
Another option is the Bureau of Land Management land in the area. Bastendorff Beach on the southern coast is a popular overnight spot with RVers. Camping is free and you need to limit your stay to 14 days or less.

Harris Beach State Park Campground
Breathtaking views is the name of the game here, folks. Located a stones throw from the epic Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor lies Harris Beach State Park and a great Oregon Coast campground that meets high expectations.
Theres 60 tent sites and 90 RV sites, each site comes with a paved parking spot, fire-ring and picnic table. Drinking water, flushing toilets and showers are also provided.
These amenities paired with the jaw-dropping views of easily accessible nearby viewpoints makes it easy to see why this is one of the best campgrounds at the Oregon Coast!

Tillicum Beach Campground is one of my favorite campgrounds at the Oregon Coast because its right on the beach which is a rare treat! One of the few campgrounds where you can watch sunset from your campsite.
Ample wildlife viewing opportunities and great amenities all but guarantee that these coveted 36 tent and car camping sites get reserved in a snap, so reservations are highly recommended during the spring and summer months.
Note: This Oregon Coast campsite is especially desirable during whale migration because the whale watching opportunities are hard to beat. You can see the whales from the shore!

Its our first time. The restrooms are nice and clean. We feel the campsites are on top of each other. We just arent used to that.

Harris Beach State Park
If you are interested in checking out tide pools and the variety of marine animals that live along the Oregon Coast, Harris Beach is a great place to visit. Many harbor seals, California sea lions, and birds make their homes in the area. You can also view gray whales during their migration.
The campground has great views of therugged coast, complete with sea stacks and even a large island. Tide pools areexcellent in this area and there are sandy beaches as well. If you aretraveling with kids, there is a playground at the park in addition to the kite flyingand sandcastle building fun of the beach.
The campground has 65 full hookup sites and 25 sites with electric and water. Flush toilets, hot showers, and a dump station are all located on site.

With more than 350 campsites available, Jessie M. Honeyman is one of the largest state park campgrounds on the Oregon Coast. Honeyman State Park caters to RV and tent camping and is surrounded by the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. Dune enthusiasts and off-highway vehicle riders often fill the campground.
Three freshwater lakes are also within the state park, which are well used by swimmers, anglers, and anyone looking to cool off from the summer sun. No direct trails link Honeyman to the ocean, but outside of snowy-plover-restricted seasons , OHV riders can find their own route to the beach.
Running water and restrooms are available for all overnight users. The state park also provides ample parking and staging areas for OHV riders.

Beverly Seashore is in style for a cause! Like magic, a well-known walkway goes below the highway and emerges to the long expanse of sandy seashore extending from Yaquina Head to the headlands of Otter Rock.

I seem to always hae issues at KOA campgrounds finding a level spot. , otherwise, stay was fine.
It was just overnight but a few more signs as to get there from the exit off 1-5 would help. looked very nice.
Just the usual KOA experience- great!

it was a short overnight stay nice clean park I didn’t explore it too much as it was pouring but did notice the picnic table in my site was rotten and top board came off when I tried to move it

Washburne Park is across the coastal highway with private campsites in the woods. Most first-come, first-served sites are spacious and level, and have full hookups for $33 a night.
You can take a short path under the highway to the usually empty five mile long sandy beach. Elk can occasionally be spotted here, and rhododendrons bloom in the spring.

This was my third time staying at this KOA and I have absolutely enjoyed each stay. The grove of trees at the campground are outstandng.
Deluxe cabins nice.Just wish they would wave the 2 night minimum in the winter. Would stay a lot more. One night of money is better than no money. Especially during the week there’s nobody staying in them.wish they would deliver wood to cabins.

Overall very beautiful park, great staff and of course watching the Elk walk by was a nice addition. My only concern was the road at the check in. It could use a good drop of gravel to fill those mud holes�
