Located in the semi-arid San Gabriel Mountains of Southern California, Soledad Canyon Resort lies just north of Los Angeles. Day trips into LA are a common occurrence from this campground, as the city and its many suburbs are within an hours drive. The small town of Acton is 5 minutes away, with a few amenities, and the larger community of Santa Clarita is just 30 minutes to the west.
The resort is open year-round and is easily accessible from California Highway 14 just north of Acton on the southern end of Antelope Valley. It is a little higher in elevation than Los Angeles so will get the occasion snow dusting but it never sticks around longer than 12 hours. The surrounding countryside is filled with horse ranches, historical sites, and the Angeles National Forest, where hiking opportunities abound.
