Twin Lakes Is Old Florida Charm At Its Best

Twin Lakes is a peaceful gem of a campground with fishing, frog gigging, and hunting in our backyard – water level permitting. We are surrounded by two major hunting management areas located on historical Cross Creek, which connects Lake Lochloosa to Orange Lake. Cross Creek is featured by Pulitzer Prize Winning Author, Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings in her books and movies, The Yearling and Cross Creek. We are one-half mile from Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings house where she lived and wrote about her life on the creek.

King Lake Cabin Suites

Our 5 Cabin Suites have been beautifully renovated with new tile, granite counter tops, new furniture, and decor themed after one of 280 historic buildings from the DeFuniak Springs area The Chautauqua, The Library, The Victorian, The Steeple, and The Train Depot. Two of the suites are pet friendly.

All Cabin Suites have two master bedroom suites with King beds. One suite bedroom has a shower and a Jacuzzi tub and the other suite bathroom has a shower. Between the two master suites is a living area with cable TV and a full kitchen. Inflatable mattresses in are available in the living room to allow an additional 2 people sleeping accommodations.

The kitchen is equipped with a Kuerig coffee maker dont forget your K Packs for morning coffee .

A small back patio offers a lovely, tranquil view of King Lake. The back porches are newly renovated with paverstone decks and fire pits behind suites.

The cabin was amazing. We had a full kitchen with granite counter tops, and all necessary cookware, silverware, plates, etc. were provided. The bathroom in the master bedroom was nicer than my own at home, with a huge jacuzzi tub that easily accommodated both my husband and I with room to spare. If Heaven Is Like This Place Im Booking

Stayed for a week. We are from CO and have stayed in many beautiful campgrounds in CO and along the way. Twin Lakes is by far, the nicest campground we have ever stayed in and certainly deserves the moniker of a resort.

From the dead end street way off the main highway to the gated campground located on two lakes our campsite faced Lake Holly. We saw the sun rise, and watched the birds and the fishermen gliding by in their boats. If you like quiet, serenity and peacefulness this is the place. The bathrooms are 5-star resort nice, and the community room delightful. Wonderful staff. Only 40 miles to traffic-crazy Destin. We will be back!

We have many folks stay with us for an extended vacation but were also a convenient over-night stop while traveling through the area. Twin Lakes is conveniently close to I-10 and within a nice days drive from many major cities including Orlando, New Orleans, Birmingham, Savannah and Jackson.

We were greeted by a very kind young lady and were given a wonderful site that we could have parked in both ways as it had the hookups on both sides of the site. We had a beautiful view of both lakes! You Need To Stay Here If The Opportunity Arises

Unlike so many RV parks that try to pack us in like sardines, Twin Lakes makes great use of the limited space. There are green spaces for both humans and fur babies to play. The lodge has an adjacent field with soccer goals at either end and a catalog of field games. Croquet, frisbees, bocci ball, soccer balls, and some games Ive never seen before are all available for free use. There is a pool but we did not get the opportunity to use it due to the chilly weather.

Amenities include a recreation room with a large flat-screen TV and DVD collection, billiards table, and kitchenette. Along the multiple docks youll find flats boats with outboard motors and kayaks you can rent by the half-day or full-day for reasonable rates. We were situated with an unobstructed view of both lakes, the dam, and beautiful sunsets. Our spot was technically a buddy spot which was meant for a single group. On our second day, a couple in a decked-out Airstream sprinter van joined us and became the buddy occupants we were previously lacking. We shared the campfire and told each other our stories. Perhaps this is the best part of traveling full-time unexpectedly meeting and making friends with wonderful people in wonderful settings. We Left The Campground A Total Of Zero Times

Lucio and Peach made friends each day, some of which became pen pals in the modern sense Facebook messenger for kids. Our stay lasted a week, of which, we left the campgrounds a total of zero times. Its really that blissful. During cooler times, like now, a handful of people congregate at the community firepit up by the lodge and enjoy their morning brews. The community, in particular the camp hosts and personnel working hard to keep up the grounds, are absolutely wonderful and helpful people. We found ourselves once again wishing we could stay longer.

Twin Lakes Camp Resort: Florida Panhandles Newest Glamping Destination

DEFUNIAK SPRINGS, FLA.The Florida Panhandle has a new glamping destination. Twin Lakes Camp Resort has just completed the installation of seven luxury glamping tents, each of which is furnished with a king size bed with a large decorative 100 year old sinker pine wood frame, fine linens, a full bathroom and kitchenette with hot water on demand, a small refrigerator and a microwave oven. The units also come equipped with air-conditioning, ceiling fans, indoor and outdoor dimmable LED lighting, as well as a heavy gauge outdoor grill for cooking a meal.

It has taken us close to two months to install these Eco-tents, which we imported from Australia. They sit on elevated platforms with all the comforts of a hotel or your house, said park co-owner Patrick ONeill, who has been working the past two years to transform Twin Lakes Camp Resort from a traditional campground into a glamping resort destination that features luxurious Eco-tents as well as private cabin suites and lake house rentals. The seven new Eco-tents complement two other glamping tents that were installed four years ago.

ONeill said four of the tents, which are close to the lake, are for adults only, while five other Eco-tents are set 250 feet back from the lake and are designed for families with children. The adults only Eco-tents also include bathtubs while the family tents have showers.
