A trail of less than one mile will take you past the Coquille River and down to the beach. These extra-large campsites are great if you want a little space, and you can work off your campers breakfast by hiking over 8 miles of trails, rewarding you with ocean vistas.

Located at the states Westernmost tip, Cape Blanco is a pretty impressive sight, with the Cape Blanco Lighthouse well worth a visit. The 52 electric sights are first come first served, so make sure you dont miss out.

Port Of Newport Marina Rv Park

If you are coming to the shore to go fishing or crabbing, the Port of Newport Marina RV Park is the perfect spotfor you. While it does not have the amenities of many private campgrounds it doeshave a very special feature- it is located directly on Yaquina Bay. Yaquina Bayis the perfect spot to launch your boat or hop on a charter for a day at sea.

The park is very basic but does have 144 spaces with room for bigrigs. There are full hookups, including cable, available along with showers andlaundry.

If the full hookup sites are booked, there is also dry camping.Boats are welcome and there is an RV repair center less than one mile away.Visitors can crab or fish off the public fishing pier adjacent to thecampground.

The campground is located right in downtown Newport within walkingdistance of the Rogue Brewery, Oregon Coast Aquarium, Newport Marina Store andCharters and the Hatfield Marine Science Center. Other points of interestincluding lighthouses, Agate Beach and Ripleys Believe It or Not are just ashort drive or bus ride from the campground.

Rock Creek Campground On Oregons Coast

Within the Siuslaw National Forest, youll find Rock Creek Campground, just a short half a mile away from the beach. These Oregon coast campgrounds are pretty rustic, with no electricity and potable water, but that only adds to the fun.

When in the area, pay a visit to the Cape Perpetua Visitor Center, which offers phenomenal views of the ocean and beyond. You may even be able to spot a whale. There are several great hikes around here through dense, old-growth forest and to coastal overlooks.

Cape Lookout State Park

For great views and easy beach access, Cape Lookout is a popular spot in northern Oregon. There are more than eight miles of trails in the park, perfect for hiking. There is also an old-growth forest along with access to the beach and bay. Keep an eye out for glass floats as you beach comb along the shore.

The campground only has 38 full hookupsites so be sure to book early to guarantee your spot. Hot showers, flushtoilets and a dump station are all located on site.

Treasures At The Beach

No trip to Lincoln City is complete without at least one visit to the beach. There are seven miles of soft, sandy beaches to explore and Ive loved strolling along all of them. Try the SW 51st Street access point for ample parking and a handicapped-accessible entrance.Birdwatching

Im not an official birder, but I truly enjoy watching the birds that hang out along the beach. The Western Sandpipers race across the sand while the Pelagic Cormorant can be seen nesting on the cliffs and ledges near the shore. The cormorants have one of the largest colonies on the Pacific Coast just south of Lincoln City at Cape Foulweather.

Watch out for the Western Gulls, though. Theyll steal any picnic food you have left unattended.

Watch / Homeless Camps: Not Like Portland But Still An Issue In Lincoln City

City Signs: Signs are posted at various locations in Lincoln City in an effort to stop transients and the homeless from establishing the camps.

While the buildup of homeless and transient camps in Oregon’s larger cities, such as Portland, Salem and Eugene, has been well-documented over the past several months, such camps in Lincoln City might be less noticed.

Campsite: This is one of the transient and homeless campsites in Lincoln City. At this site, off 25th Street in northeast Lincoln City, we found debris, but no campers.

While the camps in Lincoln City have not yet triggered detailed and strategic public policy, over the years, Lincoln City Police have been called to various camp sites to move the transients and homeless away and public parks crews have had to clean up the sites. City officials have estimated the clean ups costs anywhere from $10,000 to $15,000 per camp and involves careful hazardous materials disposal efforts.

Sunset Bay State Park has to be one of the most scenic spots when going Oregon coast camping, made up of towering cliffs and sandy beaches, with sites available very near the beach. Choose to stay in a tent, RV, or for something a little fancier, there are a few yurts available to rent.

Harris Beach State Park

Boasting the largest island off the Oregon coast, Harris Beach State Park is one of the best Oregon coast campgrounds. Bird Island is a wildlife sanctuary full of rare birds, or on land, there are sandy beaches, tide pools, and rocky outcroppings, with the stunning scenery changing with the seasons.

It is a fantastic spot to view wildlife, and you may even spot a gray whale or two. The real appeal here though, is the surrounding, with just a short journey to Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor.

National Forests And Blm Land

The best option for free camping near the beach is in the manynational forests along the shore. The Siuslaw, Rogue-River Siskiyou, andTillamook State Forests are all located along the coast. There are a fewdispersed camping sites within these areas. Camping is also allowed along theforest roads if you can find a pullout suitable for your rig.

Another option is the Bureau of Land Management land in the area. Bastendorff Beach on the southern coast is a popular overnight spot with RVers. Camping is free and you need to limit your stay to 14 days or less.

Rv Camping Near Newport Or Lincoln City

We are planning on rving in June for one week in this area in a large fifth wheel. We are mid aged and have grown children. Can you suggest a nice rv park in this area that is near the ocean?

HI lorraine241 and welcome to TripAdvisor. The only RV park that is near the ocean in Newport is a “motorcoach only” one owned by Marathon 🙁

However, there is one right on the bay, just south of the bridge. It’s new, big rig friendly, W & E w/ dump station, no trees. Not sure you can go a week without dumping?

Lincoln City has one with some ocean views and ocean access down the hill across the highway. There’s a pedestrian tunnel about a ½ mile away to go under the highway. It’s also newish – it’s one of the Premier RV Resorts, 50 amp full hookups, wifi & cable. Click on Lincoln City:

Just south of Lincoln City, there is one that is oceanfront – but sites are narrow as it’s an older park. I *think* they can take big rigs on the front spots. Full hookups. This is a fairly nice park but a tad tight if busy – the front spots are great but do book early if interested!
