THE GORGE vs. RED ROCKS Amphitheater | Which venue is better?

Whether you just need to know where to camp nearby or you want to plan a free camping road trip, we’ve got you covered. You can simply use your smart phone’s GPS to find camping near you or even use our trip planner to plan your route from coast to coast.

Our community provides the best free camping information available. Free campgrounds can be hard to find. Freecampsites.net makes it easy. We give you a simple, map based search engine to find free and cheap camping areas. Community reviews and ratings provide you with up to date information and help you select the best camp site for your next camping trip.

This is a platform for sharing campgrounds and camp sites you have discovered. We are community driven, and while we will be adding many free camping spots, we hope that you will add some of your favorite camping places as well. By sharing camping information freely, we can all spend less time researching campgrounds, spend less money, and more time camping. If everyone contributes a few campsites, we’ll all have more places to go camping.

Please come back and let us know what you find!

We are not actively seeking Wal-Marts, truckstops or other parking lots and will not be adding very many of these. There are enough Wal-Mart and truck stop directories out there already. However, if a member of the community finds one of these locations to be useful for overnight RV parking and creates an entry, we may approve the listing.

Please come back and let us know what you find!

Know What To Bring Inside

At some point, you need to decide to leave the Red Rocks lot scene and start heading into the amphitheater. My plan of action is to start heading in at least an hour before the show starts. That gives enough time to make the trek, get situated in our seats and reconnect with friends. Heck, I even have time to use the bathroom, fill up water, grab a beer and enjoy a bite to eat before the show gets started.

Before you head into the Red Rocks concert venue:

  • Clean up after yourself. Red Rocks isnt just a concert venue. Its a beautiful recreational park, and we want to leave it that way. Dont trash the parking lot.
  • Give yourself plenty of time. The walk to the entrances at Red Rocks can take awhile, so dont forget to grab a cold one for the trek and the line. If you parked in a lower lot, youll probably be periodically breaking to catch your breath. Once inside the amphitheater, be prepared to walk up another hundred stairs or so to get to your seat.
  • Grab everything you need. Once youre in Red Rocks Amphitheatre, youre in. Theres no re-entry at Red Rocks plus, your car is way further than you think it is. Make sure you have everything you need before you walk away from your car.
  • Where To Stay While You Play

If you are starting your vanlife adventure out of Denver, we highly recommend you check out the most legendary music venue in the nation. Red Rocks Amphitheater has been a not-to-be-missed destination for most Music Artists in all Genres, since 1906. Located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, this venue has a clear view of the sparkling lights of Denver, while being nestled between beautiful rock formations. Camping on site is prohibited but we have listed three campgrounds with full facilities for you to check out.

Here is a list of upcoming events for this season.

The National Park Service recognizes this beautiful park because of its outstanding architecture and landscape architecture . Getting this designation shows how the National Park Service extends beyond National Parks to recognize other places of significance throughout the country.

For the athletically inclined, hiking and mountain biking around the park’s trails are daytime favorites. Red Rocks amphitheater also opens early in the morning for those looking to get a one of a kind workout with Yoga on the Rocks and the Fitness Challenge.

Know How To Find Your Seats

Relax and let’s go to Red Rocks Amphitheater

Your Red Rocks concert ticket will tell you whether you have General Admission or a Reserved Seat number. This can vary for every show at Red Rocks, so be sure to ask one of the many staff members where your ticket gets you. Often GA will be the first few rows in the front and top, while the center rows are saved for reserved seating. Sometimes the entire place is GA, and sometimes the entire show is assigned seats. What To Pack For A Red Rocks Tailgate

RED ROCKS PARK and AMPHITHEATRE Walking Tour !!! ð?ï¸?ðª¨ðð¸ | CuriousTravels TV

Cold beverages: Pack a cooler filled with a few tasty beverages to enjoy. Just remember, Red Rocks does NOT allow glass. They will confiscate your drinks, and that would be a total bummer.

Snacks: Dont forget to eat. This seems like the dumbest thing to tell people, but people forget to eat all the time.

Water: Drink lots and lots of water. Remember, folks, Red Rocks sits at about 6,500 feet in elevation. Between the altitude and the alcohol, concert goers party so hard in the lot that they dont even make it to the show . Stay hydrated.

Sunblock and Shade: If youre doing it right, youve gotten to the Red Rocks parking lot when the sun is still pretty hot. Put on some sunblock, and enjoy your beers under your canopy. Youll make friends with the people parked next to you, since they probably didnt bring shade.

Chairs: Sit a spell under your shade canopy. Youll be up on your feet dancing all night, so take a moment to let those feet rest up!

    The More You Know

Weed is legal in Colorado, but smoking weed in public is NOT legal. I have seen friends get fined in a Red Rocks parking lot not for open alcohol containers, but for smoking pot. If you are planning on smoking, be discreet and watch out for law enforcement roaming around.
