A Brief Overview Of The Serpentine Loop Route

  • We started at Anstruther Lake Rd, Access Point 5.

  • We completed a portage which took us from Anstruther Lake and onto North Rathbun Lake.

  • We then portaged from North Rathbun Lake to Copper Lake.

  • Finally, from Copper Lake, we made our way back onto Anstruther Lake, and thus completed The Serpentine Loop.

  • Thats a heavily simplified version of what we did, and doesnt include portage distances, but itll give you an idea of the ground that we covered, or at least allow you to understand our route.

Camping Within 2 Hours Of Toronto

I am looking for a camp site close to the Toronto area that has swimming, hiking and bike trails and possibly canoeing. We just moved to the area with our 9 and 10 year old daughters and do not know any places to go camping. I am specifically looking for somewhere within 2 hours of Mississauga. I know there are some good places in the Guelph area, but don’t know for sure. Any suggestions on where to go?

    Hi AgentK,

My parents as well as my sister and her family with a bunch of other family friends camped at Bronte Creek Provincial Park over the Canada Day long week-end. It’s located between Burlington and Oakville and is only half an hour drive from Central Mississauga . There is a day use area where you have to drive about five minuets from the campsite which has a huge swimming pool and other facilities and activities for children. My niece and nephew had so much fan camping over there and are already looking forward to their next camping trip. Bronte Creek has electrical campsites. Here is the link for Bronte Creek camping:

Good luck and if you do find availability at this campsite, I’m sure your kids will have loads of fun.

    Jackie

    Thanks Jackie,

I am looking to go a little further than that though!! We can do that as a day trip one day. Any other ideas?

My brother is in the area and camps here regularily. Sounds like what you are looking for.

If you have any questions, just ask.

    cheers

    cheers,
