Upper Michigan Rv Retailers Reopen As Camping World Supercenters
The two locations are the former Hilltop RV Superstore locations, which were acquired by Camping World in May this year.
LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill. – Camping World Holdings, Inc. announced Friday the grand opening of its RV and outdoor dealerships in Escanaba and Ishpeming.
Grand opening events will be held throughout next weekend at the two Camping World SuperCenters located at 2905 North Lincoln Road in Escanaba and 600 US-41 West in Ishpeming.
The two locations are the former Hilltop RV Superstore locations, which were acquired by Camping World in May this year.
Michigan is consistently a strong market for the RV and outdoor enthusiast, said Marcus Lemonis, CEO and Chairman of Camping World Holdings said in a March press relese. This acquisition expands our reach into the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and allows us to bring our assortment closer to the consumer to fulfill their needs.
The company now has a total of six locations in Michigan.
The grand opening celebration begins on Friday, July 23 and will run through Sunday, July 25, featuring special deals on new 2021 RVs and huge discounts on a variety of RV and outdoor gear.
Customers are encouraged to visit during the Grand Opening weekend to receive special gift incentives.

Camping World Holdings, Inc. said it plans to open at least 20 new greenfield locations over the next three calendar years.
The openings are in addition to acquisitions, the company said.

As part of the growth strategy, the company said it is making major investments in the quality and expansion of its dealer network. From new strategic acquisitions, new store development, increases in service capacity and facility upgrades and expansions, Camping World said its network will expand and evolve.

The company has signed an agreement acquiring multi-location Hilltop RV Superstore, with dealerships in Escanaba and Ishpeming, Mich. The acquisition is anticipated to close in May 2021.

The company will have six locations in Michigan once the acquisition is complete.
The company has also announced an agreement to acquire approximately nine acres of land off of Interstate 80 in Cheyenne, Wy., for development of a new SuperCenter location. This location will be the retailers first in the state of Wyoming, with an anticipated opening in late 2021/early 2022.

Michigan Rv Dealer Joins Camping World Holdings
GRAND RAPIDS, MI – American RV, a 29-year-old recreational vehicle dealer based in Cutlerville, has been sold to Camping World Holdings, the nation’s largest chain of RV stores and a growing force in the outdoors and boating market.
Camping World, which has operated a retail store outlet next door to American RV for the past 10 years, is expanding in Michigan. The Lincolnshire, Ill,-based company recently purchased a Supercenter RV store in Houghton Lake and operates a retail accessory story in Belleville, southwest of Detroit.
Founded in 1988 by Ron and Cheryl Neff, American RV has grown to become one of West Michigan’s largest RV dealers. Two of their children, general manager Chad Neff and accounting mangaer Tami Melpolder, will remain with the dealership.
“This is a great opportunity for my parents,” said Chad Neff. “They have worked hard for decades to build the company and they look forward to retirement. At the same time, I know they will miss the interaction with customers and vendors. My father has worked in RV sales for more than 55 years, so it’s in his blood, so to speak.”
Camping World was founded in 1966 and has grown to become the nation’s largest direct marketer and specialty retail of RV and outdoor camping accessories and services. It recently bought 57 Gander Mountain sporting goods stores and Overton’s, a North Carolina-based boating and watersports outfitter.

Camping World Holdings Inc. is strengthening its position in California.
Americas largest retailer of recreational vehicles and related products and services has reached an agreement to acquire Richardsons RV Centers. The Richardsons RV Centers acquisition is the largest acquisition in company history. The agreement covers eight locations in California and Indiana, including five current dealership locations, one future dealership location, and two parts and service centers.
The California locations will transition to the Camping World brand and bring the companys current count to 12 RV dealerships and five parts and service centers in the state, with a future RV dealership coming soon.
