From the Prairie Creek Visitor Center, follow signs for Prairie Creek Trail and continue along a flat creek bed sheltered by stately behemoths standing in primordial gravitas.

Fallen ferns and lush green foliage line a path that crosses a wooden bridge to the Big Tree junction at about 1 mile. Turn right and cross Newton B. Are There Mosquitoes In The Redwoods

99% of my hikes through the redwoods there were zero mosquitos. I remember a few times running in the community forest & being just fine until I had to stop to tie my shoe or talk with a friend. If there are mosquitos out you can do all your hikes along the coast where mosquitos cannot fly because of the breezes.
