Camping On The Gulf Miramar Beach Fl

Camp Site Review: Camp Gulf Miramar Beach Fl

CAMPING ON THE BEACH IN FLORIDA | Camp Gulf Destin Florida, Miramar Beach | Florida Traveling

We checked another state off the old travel map last week as we hit the road with the kids for Spring Break down to Camp Gulf in Miramar Beach, FL . It was our first time visiting this RV resort, but definitely not our last! Read on for our full review of our stay at Camp Gulf.

If youre not familiar with Camp Gulf, its one of the few RV campgrounds that allow you to pull your rig right onto the beach. Thats right, directly on the Emerald Coasts white sand just steps away from the ocean waves. That perk alone helps to justify the much-higher-than average daily cost to stay there.

But once you recover from the sticker shock , you start to relax and just enjoy the surroundings.

We stayed one row back from the beach . This is as close to the beach as you can get and still have a full hook up. The beachfront sites do not have access to a sewer line, although Camp Gulf does offer a daily pump out service for $10 per day. They do have electric/water/cable connections, though.

The resort is large, starting at the beach and spanning all the way back to the road entrance on Highway 98. The non-beachfront sites all include level concrete parking pads, and the ones towards the entrance are very shaded. .

There are two pools on the property, one of which is covered with a dome making it accessible year-round. The other has a fun waterslide feature!

Other amenities include a laundry facility, cabins for rent , daily group activities . You can be as involved or not as you choose.

Great Rv Camping On The Beach

We have been to over 45 RV resorts in the last year, this one is one of the better places and it comes with easy quick access to the white sugar beaches of Destin. We had site 746, which is a pull thru and is mid way in the park. This site is paved and very long. My rig is 40 feet and I had plenty of room to park my jeep behind. I would recommend that if you don’t want tons of sand in your RV, get one of the sites midway in the park. The facilities here are very nice. They just finished putting the final touches on their bathrooms in the beach bath house. Each bathroom has its own space with shower sink and toilet. Just bring your towel and lock the door. The space it all yours . The staff here are extremely helpful and can be seen throughout the park all day and evening. One down side: The water pressure for the RV becomes low at times when running water for dishes. Not a big deal but something to note.Positives: 2 onsite stores for last minute needs that includes ice creamQuiet…can hear the beach from mid way in the parkGood Wifi and excellent cable TVClose proximity to restaurants5 minute walk to beachWe will return…More

Camp Gulf Flies American Flag Upside Down On Tuesday

Camp South RV Featured Campground: Camp Gulf

MIRAMAR BEACH, Fla. One Walton County business drew a lot of criticism on Tuesday for flying their American Flag upside down.

Camp Gulf flew their American Flag with the Union facing down Tuesday morning and after outrage on social media, they changed it back that afternoon.

According to the United States Flag Code, the Flag should never be displayed with the Union down except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life and property.

Camp Gulf Owner Patrick ONeill sent News 13 a statement as to why they flew the flag like that which said in part, It is a sign of distress. In this case it is a distress of property. The same county that has continually eroded our rights has recently taken control of the property.

The statement went on to talk about the Walton County Commissioners closing the public and private beaches and how that lead to the property being in distress.

ONeills full statement can be read here.

Walton County residents even reached out to Camp Gulf to express their concern about the flag being flown upside down. One resident, Cindy Gilbertson, called and said she thought it was a poor choice made by Camp Gulf.

I told that this was a highly military community, that there was many military families and this was a disrespect to all military families in this community, Gilbertson said.

Gilbertson also said that they are not the only ones in distress right now.

Best Campground On The Beach

This campground I found online and they havent disappointed us yet. Very friendly staff. They greet you at the gate and escort you to your site and get you parked. Fabulous amenities, great beach access. Everyone that stays are always nice and friendly. This was our 3rd trip and we planned another one for 2019. You can bring your own golf cart or rent one. They have some items in their camp store. Many activities for kids. It is definitely on our best campground list.

We had a last minute change to our plans and luckily a beach front spot opened up. Amazing customer service. We had a very nice man Michael help us to our spot and back right in. Very clean, and family oriented. Close to the outlet shopping and restaurants. We already booked an entire week for next year. If you want good quality family time ON the beach this is your spot! We really had a fabulous, relaxing time! Cant wait for spring break next year!!!!! Oh and the pump out directly from your camper for 10 bucks is a no brainer!

We stayed here in our travel trailer and it was the best beach vacation, great shower house, laundry and the kids loved the pool. We walked the beach each evening catching crabs. Check in was super easy.

Camping On The Gulf Dec 2021

planned trip in 2020 but covid closed beaches. So why go to Florida if beaches closed. Policy of no refunds but anyway rescheduled for June 2021 and had to again reschedule due to mothers house damaged by easter tornado. Rescheduled for Dec 2021 and was able to get there. Very nice campground but entrance sign hard to spot on busy road. New management was in process of remodeling campground but our site was very nice and close to beach. Beautiful beach and sunsets. A little cool in December but was ok. Not many people on beach as many of sites occupied by snow birds. Wifi was spotty and no cable tv. Staff was friendly and helpful. Had cookout for campground one day and was very enjoyable. Due to no refund policy we had credit on account and have booked again for October 2022 at another site we scouted out during our stay. Nice place to visit but pricey for spotty wifi and no cable tv. Had a campground meeting with staff and they laid out plans for upgrades and additions. Looking forward to oct 22 visit and this will determine any future visits. Also close to Air Force base and lots of flyovers by jets was noisy and at the same time awesome to watch.More
