|Great all around!

Thank you Tom Johnson Campground. This RV park is well located and the layout is good. Walk to racetrack, only minutes to shopping. Next to RV dealer . Has a Pavilion but it isn’t centrally located for RV’ers, same applies to bathrooms. Majer plus for the bath house is that there are plenty of showers. Great price and would definitely come again. Wifi so-so.

|Good deal.

This park is a good deal at $25 night and $22 if you pay for a week in advance. The spots are large and each come with a metal picnic table. Mostly level electric, plumbing, and grounds are well maintained. The w/d are commercial grade and work well. WiFi is included but sloooooow. There is a grassy knoll on top to play with the dog and a few strips of grass around, but the rest of the camp is all gravel and asphalt, making it hard on little paws. Bring your own shade.Concord Mills is only two miles away but there is NO CONTINUOUS SIDEWALK which would enable a pedestrian or cyclist to cross the bridge over the freeway, so you better have a car to get across. There is a bus system but it does not pick up at the Speedway and the schedule is difficult to find.If you are in town for business or for service next door and have a car, this CG is a good deal.

|At the race track.

Great sites with plenty of room for $23 per night. Cable don’t work but has everything else including 50 amp. If you can handle using antenna or dish the cable don’t matter.

|Good Value

Camping World Buying Tom Johnson Dandy Rv

Camping World Racing Resort

by RVBusiness | Dec 19, 2014

Camping World Inc.s 100-store-plus network of rolling stock RV dealerships has taken an appreciable step forward with the acquisitions of two high profile U.S. dealerships, Tom Johnson Camping Centers in Marion and Concord, N.C., and Dandy RV Superstore in Oxford, Ala., confirms Camping World Chairman and CEO Marcus Lemonis.

This, of course, is big news for the industry at large, coming as it does amid an era of continuing consolidation.

Tom Johnsons, a regional powerhouse founded in 1967 with camping facilities located next to both stores, has been North Carolinas No. 1 RV dealer for 23 consecutive years and partly because of its NASCAR links has cultivated an almost legendary name in U.S. motorhome retailing.

Camping World has signed an agreement to purchase Tom Johnsons Camping Centers in North Carolina with one location in Marion and the other in Charlotte at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, Lemonis told RVBUSINESS.com. So, this is a big day for our company because Tom Johnsons is one of those RV businesses that sets the bar very high. Its led by Gary Stroud, whos been with the company for 20-plus years and who, frankly, is about as good as it comes not only in the quality of his character, but in his knowledge of the RV industry.

Lemonis announced in meetings late last week with employees at both TJCC stores that Stroud will stay at the companys helm with Tom Johnson himself remaining in somewhat of an advisory role.
