AUSTIN, Texas Circuit of The Americas is selling reserved camping spaces during the 2014 Red Bull Grand Prix of The Americas April 11-13 for fans looking to enjoy the venue all weekend long as MotoGP makes its return to Austin, Texas.

An upgrade is now available for those wanting a camping experience with amenities similar to those offered to COTAs premium trackside RV spots. For $600, fans can receive electricity and water and waste services, providing them with the utmost camping comfort during the race weekend.

Two different sizes of dry camping spaces are available in Parking Lot N on the east side of the track just a short walk away from Turns 3, 4 and 5, the sequence of ultra-fast esses. Campers may purchase a 20 x 20 space for $150 or a 20 x 40 space for $300. To receive access to electrical and water services, campers must purchase the $600 dry camping upgrade. And like the Monaco harbor, where multimillion-dollar yachts are anchored at track-side berths that can cost $100,000 and more during races, the RV spots at Circuit of the Americas won’t come cheap: $15,000 a year, with two- to three-year terms.

“There’s been a huge amount of interest since the inception of the project,” circuit spokeswoman Ali Putnam said of RV parking. “The demand is there. It’s something people are looking forward to watching the race from that perspective so that’s something we wanted to offer.”

Circuit organizers have begun contacting people on a waiting list who have expressed interest in RV parking, Putnam said.

Great Track But Terrible Rv Camping

The track is fine and as premium seat license holders, we enjoy watching formula and other race events. The problem is the total lack of customer service. I understand about covid and the impact that’s had on business, but for goodness sakes, it’s not like the customer service reps are coming to your home or office. Instead they’re just answering the phone or making calls on the phone, neither of which we ever really received. We paid $2,500 for a premium RV spot only to get here and find out there’s no full hookups. We only have water and electricity but even the electricity is difficult to hook up without an extension cord because of the way they have their electrical outlets and our spaces inability for us to pull forward. The issue I have is, it seems year after year and even PSL ticket holders, and paying a premium price for what I would consider a good RV spot, it’s a thorough disappointment, and when no one from the office exerts any time to contact you and listen to any grievances or even attempt to rectify the situation, it makes it difficult for us to justify the huge expense this is instead of just enjoying it on the television.
