Deep Creek Lake State Park
The campground at Deep Creek Lake State Park has 108 campsites, 21 reserved for tents. The campground sits directly on the water, with a mile-long beach, and offers such amenities as bath houses, a boat launch ramp, fire rings with grills, showers, potable water, vending machines, picnic tables and playground. The state park also features a Nature Center and an Interpretive Center. Numerous hiking and mountain biking trails may be accessed from the campground. Campground bookings are handled by Reserve America . The campground is open April 15 through Dec. 15.

There are forests and state parks surrounding Deep Creek Lake, including Swallow Falls State Park, the Potomac State Forest, and the Mt. Nebo Wildlife Management Area. State Parks
Rough it out in the wilderness at one of our awesome state parks! Many parks offer campsites and cabins, some offering electricity, too!
Deep Creek Lake State Park offers 112 campsites, 26 electrics sites, a picnic table, fire ring, lantern post, and a wildlife resistant food storage box on each site. They also have heated bathhouses, a dump station, freshwater fill up spot, free boat trailer parking, overnight dock slip use, and even some mini cabins and other lodging options! The park itself offers a sandy lakefront area, fishing areas, bathrooms, playgrounds, and hiking and biking trails. All in all, the park encompasses 1,800 acres!!
You can also camp at Swallow Falls State Park! Their new Operation CAMPOUT program offers all of the gear you need to camp, free of charge! The park offers 65 camping sites that include a fire ring, picnic table, and lantern post. Three of the sites offer a full hook-up that includes electricity, water, and sewer, and three sites with water and electricity. They also have three camper cabins that offer electric heat and beds. All campers have access to the bathhouses and picnic and pavilion areas. The park offers access to some of Marylands most scenic natural beauty, including the tallest free-falling waterfall, Muddy Creek Falls. The loop around the park totals just over a mile.

Inside Deep Creek Lake State Park
If you are interested in learning more about Deep Creek Lake State Park and the surrounding areas, you can spend an afternoon at the Discovery Center at Deep Creek Lake State Park. One of the exciting attractions there is the aviary, in which you can view nine birds of prey who have been deemed unfit for the wild due to injury or being hand-raised. The large creatures are native to Maryland, and they mesmerize anyone who sets eyes on them. Besides going to the aviary, you can go swimming, boating, and fishing in Deep Creek Lake. You can also picnic, hike, and enjoy winter sports.

Highly recommend! Sites are clean and very spacious and the owners are super nice and accommodating. They are also very diligent about cleaning the washrooms and have sanitizer available in all the shared public space. Its family and dog friendly as well. We went there 4-5 times this summer and will definitely be back next year!

Had a great quick get away weekend at deep creek campsite! Last minute booking but still got two sites nice and close to eachother, clean bathrooms, clean showers, fishing, swimming, park and even an OUTDOOR MOVIE! Staff was amazing! Will most definitely be back. Can’t wait to see the developments they have planned for the next phases!

Great long weekend here. Very quite save a couple barking dogs. There are seasonal spots here as well as nightly. Nightly not too much shade but if you bring canopy you will be fine.

I’ve been coming to these beautiful facilities for about 7 years to do summer camps. We’ve had up to 50 girls at this facility and it is fantastic. The food is excellent, the staff is outstanding, and the fields are in great shape. They cut the fields 2 to 3 times a week and the girls have a great time. One of the things that we can do here that we can not do in the Washington DC area, is to have 4 training sessions a day. But the climate and tempature here, as well as the facilities allow us to do that. It’s been a great time here at Camp Deep Creek, and we’ll be back year after year.

State Parks Near Deep Creek Lake & Garrett County Maryland
One of the many splendors to enjoy while at Deep Creek Lake is exploring the several state parks in our region! Our diverse terrain is perfect for every level of hiker and outdoor enthusiast, with most parks offering trails of varying length and difficulty. Hike alongside the lake, a river, even a waterfall! With so many options and varieties, you’ll have no trouble finding a new adventure to explore!
Swallow Falls State Park is home to Marylands largest free-falling waterfall along with several other smaller falls, hiking and cross-country skiing trails, and campsites and cabins available to rent. The towering trees envelop this entire park from the moment you arrive. Take off on one of the trails and meander your way through large boulders and trees with the river by your side. This park features multiple waterfalls, each with their own identity and beauty. Muddy Creek Falls, the tallest free-falling waterfall in Maryland, is the most well known. This roaring waterfall drops 53 ft and creates an incredible spectacle no matter the season, as it often freezes solid in the winter months. Swallow Falls and Tolliver Falls are smaller waterfalls located along the trail in the park. Almost every part of the trail has areas that allow you to safely get up close and personal with the river and the falls.

How To Get Todeep Creek Lake State Park
If you are in Pittsburgh, you can get to the park via I-79. Take route I-79 south and drive to I-68 East. Take Exit 4 to Route 219 and drive along the route for 18 miles. Take Glendale Road and drive for one mile until you cross the Glendale Bridge. After crossing the bridge, turn left and enter State Park Road, which you will drive for about a mile to the park.
From Washington, D.C., take 270 north all the way to I-70 West. Then, take I-68 West. Take Exit 14A to Route 219 South Deep Creek Lake and drive along the route for 18 miles. Take Glendale Road, and drive for one mile until you cross the Glendale Bridge. After crossing the bridge, turn left and enter State Park Road and drive it for about a mile to the park.

Bumble Bee Rv Park & Campground
This private campground less than two mile from Deep Creek Lake is small, rustic and oriented toward families. Bumble Bee RV Park & Campground consists of 25 full hookup RV sites and 14 primitive tent sites, nestled under a canopy of maple, pine, cherry, apple and oak trees. A modern bath house features an ultraviolet light system to sanitize the water supply. The campground is open May 1 through Oct. 13.

We loved hanging our hammock next to the river and the firewood bundle delivered to the campsite is a great deal. No matter how you camp cabin, RV, Tent Trailer, or tent there are facilities for you at Deep Creek, Maryland. Deep Creek Lake is located in Garrett County, Maryland surrounded by the towns of Deer Park, Swanton, and Floyd. The lake is located in the midst of deep forest and 2,500 feet above sea level in Western Marylands Appalachian Mountains. At nearly 6 square miles in size, with 65 miles of shoreline, it is the largest lake in Maryland.
A number of private camp grounds offer amenities for trailers, RVs or tenting. You can reserve spaces in two Maryland state parks, Deep Creek Lake State Park and Swallow Falls State Parkwith Blackwater State Park, across the West Virginia state line. These parks offer a wide range of camping options including mini-cabins, shelters, tent spaces and yurts. They also offer a variety of tourist opportunities. For state park camping spaces, make reservations early.
Deep Creek, Maryland boasts one of two Olympic style whitewater courses in the United States. You and your family can enjoy whitewater rafting or canoeing in a safely controlled environment. Mountain biking, rock climbing and hiking are also very popular. Additionally, you can enjoy hunting, fishing, swimming, golfing, boating and touring in this historic, former coal mining center.
