Brian Laundries Parents Put Up For Sale Sign At Florida Home Weeks After His Remains Were Found

A makeshift memorial made of stones arranged in the shape of a cross has been left at the site in Wyoming where the likely remains of Long Island native Gabby Petito have been found, according to reports.

The apparent body of the 22-year-old woman was found in the Spread Creek Dispersed Camping Area in the Bridger-Teton National Forest, where a pair of YouTubers spotted a white van believed to be the 2012 Ford Transit used by Petito and her boyfriend, Brian Laundrie.

The travel bloggers spotted the van on Aug. 27, three days before Petito last had contact with her family on Aug. 30 and five days before Laundrie returned home to Florida without his girlfriend on Sept. 1.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday to confirm the identity of the body found at the scene, where the cross was found by several news outlets, including KUTV and Fox 13.

We have found what appears to be a memorial in the area where law enforcement searched for and eventually found the remains of who law enforcement believes to be #GabbyPetito, Fox 13 reporter Sydney Glenn said in a tweet that contained an image of the cross of some 18 stones.

KUTV reporter Jeremy Harris also tweeted a photograph of the memorial, which was set on a sandy stretch surrounded by rocks just feet from a creek.

There are obvious signs that this area was extensively surveyed by crime scene techs, Harris wrote.

On Monday evening, the feds said they had finished with their search of the Florida home of Laundries parents.

Investigators Reopen Spread Creek

Spread Creek Dispersed Campground, WY

The forensic search has concluded in the Spread Creek dispersed camping area following the recovery of Gabrielle Petitos body and investigators combing the area for more evidence in the case.

In a release Tuesday evening, the FBI stated that the area has now been reopened to the public. Still, the FBI is asking anyone who utilized the area between August 27th and 30th and may possibly had contact with Ms. Petito or her fiancé Brian Laundrie, to contact the FBI with that information. Investigation of the case is still very much continuing. At the time of her death, Petito went missing as she and her fiancé were traveling to a variety of national parks in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming while camping in their converted van along the way.

Her disappearance was reported by her mother on September 11th and searching focused on the Grand Teton National Park area until her body was found Sunday. Her death was ruled a murder and her fiance went missing after he had returned to Florida alone late last month.

Social Distancing Still Applies

Set your campsites up at least six feet apart. Keep your tent and eating areas as far away from other households or campsites as possible. If you share a campsite with a different household, try to keep placements around a campfire properly distanced and follow all campground rules or instructions. Lastly, bring a mask, and wear it when six feet can’t be ensured.

Laundrie Hitched A Ride From Two Drivers

Earlier, Baker claimed that she had had an interaction with Laundrie when she picked him up as he was hitchhiking alone on August 29 five days after Gabby was seen checking out of a Fairfield Inn hotel in Utah. In a video that Baker shared on her TilTok account, she said she, along with her boyfriend was at Grand Teton National Park in Colter Bay, Wyoming, on the evening of August 29 when Brian requested them for a lift. She said, He approached us asking for a ride because he needed to go to Jackson and we were going to Jackson that night. So I said, ya know, hop in and he hopped in the back of my Jeep.

Baker said she and her boyfriend then proceeded to make small talk. He did say he had a fiancée and that she was working on their social media page back at their van, Baker stated. He had scruff but he didnt look dirty for someone who was camping for multiple days. He didnt look dirty, he didnt smell dirty, so that part was kind of weird, Baker said. She also claimed that Laundrie apparently freaked out and asked them to stop when he was told that they were driving to Jackson Hole. Nope, I need to get out right now, he allegedly told Baker. Baker said, We dropped him off at 6.09pm on August 29. They termed the interaction as a weird situation.
