South Padre Island Texas

Nab a spot at one of several RV parks then revel in the fact you can still feel warm breezes, comb beaches for shells and watch spectacular sunsets in January.
Albee Creek Campground In The Humbolt Redwoods
This is the best Humbolt Redwoods campgrounds and is the most likely of the campgrounds to be full so make sure to make reservations early. It is a small quiet campground, in a quiet place, and does not fit large RVs. There is little to no traffic noise.
This campground has great views of the redwoods and is one of the best places for a scenic drive. The campground is not super level since it is on a little bit of a hillside. The best sites are 40 and 39. They are the most private and near the creek. If those are not available, you will want sites 1 and 2.
The campground is a little bit off the beaten path making it great for hiking but the drive-in is one of the most impressive Northern California redwoods drives off the avenue of the giants. This is a great redwood campsite if you are looking to see the giant redwoods in Northern California in your RV or camper.
They can fit a 33 ft RV and a 24-foot bumper pull camper. This campground is not open year-round.
Sunshine Key Rv Resort And Marina
A mix of a RV Resort with a nearby marina are two of the amazing offerings you are gonna find at Sunshine Key RV Resort and Marina. Close to Big Pine Key in the lower Florida Keys, it gives you access to all types of water activities, from enjoying the beaches to kayaking and fishing from your kayak, swimming at a lovely 90 degree pool, diving, snorkeling and much more!
The campsite and RV park has been rebuilt after the last hurricane and most everything looks spotless now. The RV Park is very comfortable and has internet access. Keep in mind it is not for free.
Things you cant miss:
- The farmers market
- The stand-up paddleboards
- Going for a bike ride
For those looking to escape COVID-19 restrictions, the park does not really enforce the use of face masks. Only the friendly employees have to do it.

Grayton Beach State Park
When I think of Grayton Beach State Park I get such a warm and fuzzy feeling. We LOVE it here. Last time we visited and were walking down the road to get to the beach and my husband turned to me and said this places just feels right. I knew exactly what he meant.
Located just a short drive up the road from Camp Gulf Grayton Beach State Park feels like you are miles away from the hustle and bustle of the nearby tourist cities of Destin and Panama Beach. The secluded state park has trees at every site which is a nice barrier from your neighbors. Plus it is a quick 10 minute walk from your site to the beautiful beach.
Since the beach is a state park beach people have to pay to get in which helps keep the beach from getting over crowded. Dont get me wrong on a busy weekend it will be busy but not as busy as the public beaches. You can also take a short walk down the beach to visit a couple cute and unique restaurants. But be aware you will have to cross a small waterway where the lake and ocean meet. It is only a foot or so deep.
There is also a bike trail that takes you from the state park to the unique town of Seaside. Seaside is where they filmed the movie The Truman Show. Plus they have great restaurants and shops and airstream row where you can buy delicious food right out of an airstream restaurant.

Petit Jean State Park is a natural and historic gem that has attracted visitors for decades. the park is roughly an hour and a half drive from Little Rock.
The campgrounds feature a total of 125 campsites . Thirty-five of the sitesthe Class AAA siteshave 50 amp electrical, water, and sewer hookups. The 90 Class B sites offer 30 amp electrical and water hookups. All sites are reservable, according to the park
They also feature substantial group facilities. If a family does not have their own camping equipment, they can rent it.
The park is ideal for families or groups of friends, due to its numerous picnic spaces equipped with tables and grills. There is excellent fishing, as well as a swimming pool, playgrounds, tennis courts, and paddle boat rentals. There is also great hiking for people of all ages and fitness levels.
Rock Island State Park

Set in central Tennessee near the cascading waterfalls of The Caney Fork River Gorge, Rock Island State Park is a year-round river oasis. The whitewater sections of the river here are challenging and intense, attracting professional kayakers from around the world. The lively gorges of the area link to great hiking trails, nine in total, with many opportunities for swimming, fishing, and skipping rocks. There are 10 cabins run by the Tennessee State Parks commission on site, which are well-crafted and maintained, as well as 60 campsites.

Phoenix Rv Park Salem Oregon
Chilly days, nearby wineries and hot springs? Sounds like a winter winner to us. Phoenix RV Park is tucked within the Willamette Valley, famed for its earthy Pinot Noir wines and mountain views. Wineries embrace the chill with winemaker dinners and blazing fireplaces. The park is also close to cockle-warming hot springs like the pools tucked within Willamette National Forest theyre usually open year-round, though roads can be icy but are temporarily closed so check before you travel.
Louisiana: Fontainebleau State Park Mandeville
Located on the site of the ruins of a former sugar mill built in 1829 along Lake Pontchartrain, Fontainebleau State Park features a sandy beach, a former railroad track converted to a walking trail, as well as a nature trail with signs denoting trees and bird species. Niagara Shores Campground New York
Why Its Great in Fall:
The Upstate New York regions fall foliage peaks in late October, so theres no better time to enjoy a waterfront campsite along the shores of Lake Ontario. Located in Appleton, New York, less than an hour from Niagara Falls State Park, Niagara Shores is a convenient base camp for exploring the popular attraction come fall. Appleton itself is home to a winery and the campground has kayaking and a meditation labyrinth.

If you want to retire in an RV, it’s fairly easy to join the rest of the snowbird community and jaunt off to where the weather’s best. The Good Sam family of campsites keeps a list of snowbird-friendly RV campsites, while Thousand Trails offers annual camping passes to more than 100,000 such sites in North America. Almost all peak snowbird destinations are in the Southwest, Southeast, or Gulf States, and even frugal living under those conditions can cost upward of $16,000 a year. But there are certain destinations that folks feel are worth it. We looked around to find places snowbirds just love to call home if only until it gets a little warmer up north.

Southeast: Fall Creek Falls State Park Tennessee
The centerpiece attraction at Tennessee’s Fall Creek Falls State Park is its massive namesake waterfall, which plummets off a rock face 256 feet in the air. South Carolina: Huntington Beach State Park Murrells Inlet

Grand Canyon National Park
Many would agree that the Grand Canyon is one of the best US National Parks to visit in November due to its immense beauty and lack of crowds. Grand Canyon National Park weather in November will have temperatures much more pleasurable too.
If youve had problems getting a permit for backcountry hiking in the Grand Canyon, applying for one in November may be the solution.
But any of the trails will be mostly all yours this time of year. Or take this guided tour to get the best canyon views. Plan your visit around the South Rim for the most predictable conditions and open facilities.
However, if youd like to check out the splendor of the park from the North Rim, the road is usually open barring heavy snow. You can also find lodging and restaurants less than an hours drive from there.

Rio Grande Village Rv Campground Texas
Rio Grande Village RV Campground offers 25 RV sites with full hook-ups. Some sites may not be available for a 40-foot or longer RV due to the size of the parking lot and orientation of the spaces. 20 of the spaces are available for reservation only.
Chisos Basin, Cottonwood, and Rio Grande Basin campgrounds offer tent camping only. Other lodging is also available.
Big Bend National Park offers spectacular views of the seasonal fall foliage. The park is only a few hours southeast from El Paso, Texas.
The best time to see the color change is from about a week into November until the end of November. Be sure to keep an eye on the weather as it will help determine when the best time is to get there.
