Lakewood Police Said The Fire Forced Authorities To Close Route 9 For About An Hour Friday Morning
LAKEWOOD, NJ Authorities are still trying to determine the cause of a fire that damaged one of the buildings at Camping World on Friday morning, Lakewood police said.
The fire at Camping World, 1359 River Ave., also known as Route 9, was reported just before 6 a.m., Capt. Gregory Staffordsmith said.
The Lakewood Fire Company responded and found heavy black smoke coming from one the buildings and immediately requested mutual aid, Staffordsmith said.

Fire At Camping World In Lakewood Contained Without Injuries Cops Say
No one was hurt when a fire broke out at Camping World in Lakewood on Friday morning, authorities said.
Black smoke was pouring from one of the buildings on the property along Route 9 when firefighters arrived at about 6 a.m, according to Lakewood police.
It took firefighters about an hour to bring the blaze under control. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Police closed Route 9 between Route 70 and cross Street for nearly two hours.

Made an appt for later that day and drove an hour. Ed was busy with another person but told us the rvs were open and told us to check them out. Rvs were not open. Waited while he walked out to open them and then left again. Told us to text him if any questions. One smelled like smoke so that was out, and the other had the steps up and couldn’t get them out. I was able to jump in while my wife waited outside, but the slides were in so I couldn’t move around and check it out. Texted Ed to see if he could open the slide. He texted he couldnt do that and it was open as much as they could do. REALLY guys? How many RVs do you sell without the customer experiencing the features? I came with checkbook in hand ready to deal. Was looking at used but could have been persuaded to go new. Point is, we weren’t important enough to give time to so we can’t possibly do business with you. More

Camping World Rv Show Through Sunday
The will be fold downs, trailer trailers, hybrids, 5th wheels, toy haulers, van campers, and destination/park trailers, as well as Class C and Class A diesel pushers in the FirstEnergy Park parking lot.
The event runs 10-7 on Friday and Saturday as well as 10-5 on Sunday.
Admission is $10 per car, and proceeds will benefit Ocean of Love.
