Beachside State Recreation Site is a seasonal state park located a few miles south of Waldport on the central coast that boasts miles of broad, sandy beach that makes for outstanding beach camping. The campground offers thirty-two electrical sites with water, forty-two tent sites with water nearby, two yurts, one of which is pet-friendly, and modern restrooms with hot showers, sinks, and flushing toilets.
The parks beach is ideal for outdoor activities such as kite-flying, whale-watching, beachcombing, and swimming, and other outdoor activities include hiking, mountain biking, and bird and wildlife watching.

Great for the onsite amenities such as the two mineral fed swimming pools and beautiful secret garden.

Best Campgrounds Oregon #1: Sisters Creekside Campground
We almost moved to Sisters because I liked staying at this campground so much. What I liked so much about it was that you could walk to town for coffee, dinner, or to grab a beer and it was a nice jumping off point to exploring the Mackenzie River and Camp Sherman areas.
However, there are so many free and inexpensive camping areas in Camp Sherman and throughout the Willamette forest that are great to stay at if you dont need amenities. We often use the Sisters campground as a day to fill water, dump, and shower before or after spendng time in the Willamette wilderness area.

Located in Newport, the South Beach State Park Campground is one of the largest campgrounds at the Oregon Coast. Offering 60 roomy tent sites, 27 yurts, 3 large group sites and hiker/biker campsites, theres room for everybody!
Plus, the location cant be beat. Sitting pretty at the mouth of the Yaquina Bay Jetty, the area is ripe for exploration.
We personally enjoying crabbing and clamming in the mornings and hiking one of the numerous trails the afternoons. We dont personally fish but have notice tons of folks out on the water when we stay here.
This is one of the best family-friendly campsites at the Oregon Coast due to its proximity to the Oregon Coast Aquarium and the Yaquina Bay Lighthouse , both are great stops for kids!

Best Campgrounds Oregon #1: Mckay Crossing Campground
Set in the forest right by a river lies a campground right at the trailhead to great hiking or mountain biking. This is a fun place to spend the weekend.
If you hike just a mile or so up the trail, theres a really cool rock water slide too. There arent any amenities here other than a pit toiles but there is another campground a few miles up the road at Paulina Lake that has more amenities if you feel like you need them. Personally, I loved the off the beaten path feeling of McCay Crossing.

Lost Lake Campground And Resort
Lost Lake Campground is a popular place for good reason. It is in Mt. Hood National Forest, situated between Lost Lake and the glacial Mount Hood. Here youll find breathtaking views, along with activities for everyone.
Attractions include the hiking and biking trails, old growth boardwalk near the campground, and lake access with canoe and kayak rentals. Go fishing, birdwatching, or visit one of the nearby waterfalls. Oregon Coast Dispersed Camping Rules And Regulations
Always make sure to follow the 7 Leave No Trace principles when dispersed camping on the Oregon Coast or anywhere else, for that matter.
Because dispersed camping is more popular than ever before, its vitally important to treat our public lands with the utmost respect so they remain open and available to all.
Most importantly, pack out all of your trash , properly dispose of human waste , respect any closed areas, and dont overstay stay limits.
Double check the dispersed camping rules for the specific area you plan to visit. For example, Tillamook State Forest has different dispersed camping rules than Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest.
Contact the nearest ranger station for the most up-to-date information about current rules as well as current road conditions.
Carl G Washburne Memorial State Park

On the east side of the 101, between Yachats and Florence, this 1,000-acre state park has approximately 60 campsites available. Campsites at Washburne, unlike most state park campgrounds, are exclusively available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Many sites cater to RVs, with full hookups available. Two reservable yurts are also available, as are hiker/biker sites. All overnight guests have access to flushing toilets, running water, and free hot showers.
The beach adjacent to Carl G. Washburne is a great place to explore or relax. Paved and unpaved hiking trails lead from the campground to the beach and various other wildlife-viewing areas. For those who want to make a great day trip from the campground, the Heceta Head Lighthouse is a short drive to the south.

Ll Stub Stewart State Park
For those in the Portland area and with less time on their hands, theL.L. Stewart State Park offers a very convenient and attractive getaway that can be reached by car in under an hour.
Although located just thirty-four miles from the city, this 1,800-acre state park feels like another world entirely, with its dense, old-growth forest, rolling hills, forest glades, gleaming streams, and wealth of wildflowers providing a very alpine feel with a touch of Middle Earths Shire thrown in for good measure.
The park boasts 25 miles of hiking trails and also 6 miles of designated trails for mountain biking and horse riding. It is also home to four campsites: Dairy Creek Camp West, Dairy Creek Camp East, Hares Canyon Horse Camp, and Brooke Creek Camp.
Dairy Creek Camp West is the only campground open year-round and offers 43 full hookups, 12 walk-in tent sites, flush toilets, hot showers, and potable water.
Dairy Creek Camp East is open March 1-Oct. 31 and offers 35 full hookups, flush toilets, hot showers, potable water, and a playground.
Hares Canyon Horse Camp is open March 1-October 15 and offers 13 full-hookups with four-stall corrals, two double-size full-hookup sites with six-stall corrals, manure bins, flush toilets, hot showers, and drinking water.

Best Campgrounds Oregon #: Devils Lake
Personally I think the draw to staying here is the quick access to the hip town of Lincoln City. There is a lot happening here from taking a tour of glass blowing to having a bonfire on the beach, this is a fun town to stay at for a few days.
There are some really cool trails nearby, but accessing them does require driving down dirt roads and while you dont really need four wheel drive, a high clearance vehicle is a good idea. If you love boating, skiing, swimming, canoeing, kayaking then camping at Devils Lake will certainly meet your needs.
Note: If you are just driving through, there is free camping at the Chinook Casino in Lincoln City.
