Big4 Whitsundays Tropical Eco Resort Airlie Beach

Top FISHING & CAMPING Spots around Blenheim and East Coast – Marlborough, New Zealand

I loved the laid back vibes of Airlie Beach, we stopped here to go on a Whitsunday Islands boat trip. The pitch we stayed on at this Big4 site was partly shaded by tropical plants, perfect for keeping the van cool. A camp kitchen with two fridges and gas barbecues, plus a playground, swimming pool and clean facilities make this a great spot. A trip to the Whitsunday Islands is a must when on the east coast of Australia. Whitehaven Beach is a well-known beauty spot on Whitsunday Island, pure white sand and sparkling turquoise ocean make it a picture perfect paradise. Book onto a day trip or jump aboard a sailing boat for a longer trip on the water.

While at the campground you can do group activities like hiking, tennis, volleyball, and even group tubing! There are even perfect places for kids to go such as arcades, ice cream shops. The main draw: Known as the Gibraltar of Ontario, the 100-metre-high Mazinaw Rock is the star of Bon Echo, erupting from the extremely deep waters of Mazinaw Lake right across from the main campground. The 1.5-kilometre-long cliff not only adds oomph to the scenery, but its 260 pictographs make it Ontarios richest Native canvas. Visitors to the park can play on the lake, but theres also backcountry to be explored. And the cliff itself is a climbing meccatheres even an Alpine Club of Canada hut just north of the rock.Things to do: Take your own boat or the Mugwump Ferry to the base of Mazinaw Rock and hike the two-kilometre Cliff Top Trail. The views at the top stretch beyond the park boundaries. If youd like to cover more ground, wander through the wilderness along the Abes and Essens Trail, which features three loops from four to 17 kilometres. Back at the lake, you can rent a canoe and go for a paddle, or hit the beach for a swim.Nugget: This 500-site campground has five precious walk-in sites that give both privacy and a prime view of the big rock.

Not all beaches in USA allow beach camping but those that do offer a memorable experience. The US has some of the most stellar beachfront campsites in the world.

Our favorite spot to indulge in on the beach camping? Padre Island National Seashore in Texas! This is our all time favorite camping spot mainly because its 3 hours drive away from Houston, where we live.

One of our favorite beach campsites in Florida? Bahia Honda State Park. The Calusa Beach located here is said to be the best in the USA. It is a must stop on the Miami Florida Keys Key West road trip.

Besides these, some of our other favorite and best places to go camping in the US near the water include Big Sur in California, Rialto Beach in Washington, and Door County in Wisconsin!

Jekyll Island Campground Georgia

This campground feels like a hybrid between a state park and a private campground. It is actually owned by the state but is not part of Georgias excellent state park system. Sites are not large and private like they are at many state parks, but the location is excellent and the campground is wooded and shady. The island itself is gorgeous with many beaches to choose from. Best among them is Driftwood Beach which is close to the campground. The beach is filled with the skeletons of old trees that have been exposed by erosion. This creates a spooky look for photos and a natural playground that will keep your kids occupied for hours while you relax on the beach.
