There are only 28 sites that are open from November to March. Each site has a parking area for cars and RVs and also an adjoining sandy area to pitch a tent.
Each campsite includes water/electric hookups, a picnic table, a fire ring, and a bbq grill. Kayaking in Curry Hammock State Park is awesome with a combination of narrow mangrove canopies, open lagoons, and shallow calm ocean cruising. In terms of absolute solace, it doesnt get much better than Cayo Costa State Park, a small tent campground accessible only by boat. Perched about 25 miles off the west coast from Fort Myers, the island can be reached by private vessel or aboard Captiva Cruises from Jug Creek Marina. Out here, its nothing but nautical nature, with nine miles of unobstructed beachfront and meandering trails for bicycling and walking. Since the campground is a mile from the ferry dock, the park provides tram service between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. all year. Dont fret about the lack of electricity, either: Cayo Costa is an apt reminder of how enriching nature can be, with opportunities for fishing, swimming, snorkeling, and wildlife-watchingmanatees, porpoises, and sea turtles are often around.
The Jetty Park Campground
Jetty Park Campground is located in Port Canaveral Florida, where giant cruise ships arrive and depart throughout the day. In addition, submarines can also be spotted docking there. And from the park itself, rocket launches from the Kennedy Space Center and Canaveral Air Force Station can easily be seen.
The Jetty Park Campground has rustic spots with no amenities , semi-improved sites with water and electricity , and improved sites with water, electricity, and sewer . There is a free dump station.
With no reservations at the end of February, we were able to snag a Jetty Park Campground spot with water and electricity, a grill, and a very weathered wooden picnic table. There was plenty of room and it was relatively flat. The beach is gorgeous.

Depending on the park or campgrounds, the price for campsites may vary. Expect anything from $16 to $42 a night for tent camping. If youre looking for a cabin in a State Park, you can expect $30 to $160 a night, depending on the park.
While prices vary, all visitors will pay a non-refundable $6.70 reservation fee when making a reservation for camping in Florida parks. The fee will be collected at the time of the reservation.
It is also important to notes that Monroe County implements a County surcharge of $2.50 per night when staying on a campsite or in a cabin in a State Park.
If youre in an RV, things get a little pricier. However, RV parks, in general, cost less than hotels in the state of Florida! On average, most State Parks and RV sites offer rates of $50 per night. For a week, the average rate becomes $220, and for a month for serious campers, only $515.

Gamble Rogers State Park
This is at the top of our list of the Best Florida Beach RV Campgrounds because it is probably our favorite. Officially, its known as the Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation areas. It has two loops. On the west side of US-1 is a riverside campground on the Intercoastal Waterway.
But our favorite is the loop on the east side of US-1, right on the ocean.
Gamble Rogers is on an area of the North Atlantic Coast known as the Historic Coast and it has absolutely spectacular beachfront sites just a few steps from the beach.

When it comes to luxury, Cypress Trail in Ft. Myers offers some of the best RV camping in Florida. St Georges Island State Park Apalachicola
But the memories of this park are still with me, and it remains one of my favorite campgrounds in Florida, largely because it has 9 miles of one of the most beautiful white-sand Gulf beach youll find anywhere in Florida.
And theres no better location to enjoy famous Apalachicola oysters, which are harvested in Apalachicola Bay and sold fresh locally. I dont know if its still there, but I have vivid memories of an oyster shack near the state park where you sat on the back porch for an afternoon of eating oysters and drinking beer.
The campground is deep in the park, laid out behind a magnificent wall of sand dunes just a hop and a skip from the Gulf of Mexico. There are 60 sites with electric and water, and there are six sites with concrete pads.
On the bay side, there are two natural launch ramps. Both ramps are restricted to small craft less than 24 feet with shallow draft. Launch fees are $8-$10, depending on the number of people in the boats.
Camping fees are $24 a night, including water and electric. Day-use fee is $6 per vehicle.
