Lake Mineral Wells State Park

Forty-five minutes west of Fort Worth lies beautiful Lake Mineral Wells State Park and Trailway. The park encompasses nearly 3,300 acres, including the 640-acre Lake Mineral Wells. It also has more than 100 campsites for RVs, tent trailers and tents.

The park offers a wealth of outdoor activities, including geocaching, horseback riding, biking, rock climbing and fishing. If you dont have a boat, the park rents rowboats, kayaks, canoes and fishing boats equipped with electric motors. You can commune with wildlife on nearly 13 miles of hiking trails. The park also connects with the 20-mile-long Trailway, an old railway bed that passes through the nearby town of Mineral Wells.

The park has standard, hike-in and equestrian campsites. Standard sites, which rent for $24 to $26 per day, have electric and water hookups, and come equipped with fire pits, outdoor grills, lantern posts, picnic tables and nearby bathrooms and showers.

Equestrian campsites offer pull-through access and come with outdoor grills, picnic tables, lantern posts and fire pits. These campsites, which cost around $14 per night, have nearby water, bathrooms and showers, but do not come equipped with electric or water hookups.

Sure miss south Louisiana seafood and their cooking, but enjoying a definite change to tamales, enchiladas and jalapenos. RV from Lazy Days in Tampa, Fl. was a nice ride from 1999 and went to a new home in 2017. Put in lots of miles saw some wonderful sites that are still lasting memories of the great US of A north to south east to west and lots in between.
