Finally moved to the care takers site! something I had planned for awhile, when Bob moved out I started preparing. After 6 years, lots of settling, as this was not a prepared site. So now we can clean up in front expand green grass and parking.
This is the first time I have had the opportunity to gravel up these sites, I really like the Bobcat. I was going to rototill but the ground is still wet and soft, I dont want to make a muddy mess.
60°at RV Sites in Homer today! Spring has sprung, trees and bushes are budding, grass is growing. Perfect weather to dress up the roads and RV pads. I am going to try and get the wild grass areas a little more dialed in, but as of today their not spreading top soil yet, I called.

The location of this RV park is fantastic with 360 degree views of Kachemak bay. The boat harbor is near enough to walk to and the dogs just love the freedom of the beach. The full hook ups along with wi-fi internet makes it all the more relaxing. We have stayed at this park several times now and if you want a good spot overlooking the beach or fishhole, make reservations early. The staff is pleasant and helpful and the showers and laundry facilities are a plus. We always come back to stay whenever we are with our RV and our boat since we can park it for free in their large lot.More

I haven’t been to a ton of RV parks, but this was one of the most beautiful overnights I’ve ever had. The park was clean and fire pits well maintained. It is crowded and popular, but folks were friendly. It’s also a bit more than some of the other parks, but once you get there and see the view you will understand why. Fishing hole is a few yards away if they are in season.

In Alaska campground host jobs are are seen advertised beginning in May of each year. The duties of a campground host include firewood sales, trash pickup, fee collection, minor grounds maintenance and in some instances, campground facilities maintenance. A few of the Walmart and Fred Meyer stores offer camping to patrons in their parking lots and the Soldotna Fred Meyer even has potable water and a dump station to assist you in your visit to Alaska. When the situation deemed necessary we have camped at some of the all night convenience stores where we fuel up. Granted, we typically only use these places when we get caught in a pinch. The Soldotna and Kenai area is such an area during the heights of the sockeye salmon runs. Just be sure to ask permission first as the city governments are making it difficult on businesses allowing this practice even to customers.

Other than that it’s drying up pretty fast. Sure, people park along roads and in gravel pits but if there is a trailhead near by and it’s on State of Alaska land it typically requires a pass of some kind or another.

Anchorage and is the very last stop on the Sterling Highway, which terminates at a massive sand bar known as the Homer Spit. City Campgrounds: 2022 Summer Update
As of May 24th, 2022, the following campgrounds are open: Fishing Hole Campground, Mariner Campground, West Side Tent Camp, and Karen Hornaday Campground.
New this year, we have auto-pay kiosks at three locations to greatly improve efficiency of registration. They are located at Fishing Hole Campground, Mariner Campground, and Karen Hornaday Campground. Campers at Tent Area 2 need to cross the street to Fishing Hole and pay at that location.
Registration process:
1. Enter in license plate number. If you have an RV that will be staying and an additional car that comes and goes, please enter the plate number for the RV that will be in the site more often. If you are traveling by foot or on bike, please use XYZ123 as you license plate number.
2. Select payment method. Machines except cash or credit payments. For cash transactions, the kiosk will not make change so please use exact change. Checks are not accepted.
3. Place your printed permit in one of the clear envelopes at the registration bulletin board. Place this envelope clearly on display in your vehicle window, your campsite post , or stuck to your tent. peeling off the white backing to the envelope will expose a sticky side that allows it to adhere to tents and other structures.
4. If there are problems with the auto-pay kiosk, please use the old fashion fee envelopes located at the bulletin board in the entrance. Please notify Parks Office to report problems, or the Campground Staff Mobile or let a Camp Host know.
North Beach Camp Resort
The North Beach Camp Resort is located just 4.5 miles north of historic downtown St Augustine. It is a heavily shaded resort offering privacy and a break from the sun. Being on the ocean makes for amazing sunrises over the water every morning.
North Beach Camp Resort offers outdoor activities like surfing, swimming and surf fishing. There are two delicious restaurants to try while staying here serving local seafood. For campers who dont own an RV, the campground has cabins to rent offering a full camping experience.
Camping rates vary on RV site type or cabin type. Tent sites start at $55.25 a night while a river view, full hookup RV campsite is $114.92 a night. Renting a small cabin has a nightly rate of $165.75 while the large cabin is $209.95 a night.
