Camping World 500 Race

Great time at the camping world 500, took a group of 20 to this event and wow what a time. Hot passes, pace car rides, in the suite with great food and beverages. Overall a perfect day!

Experiencing our first NASCAR races here this weekend in the RV lot. Some of it has been fun, but hard for first-time visitors and old people like us. Lot to see and do, but never having been here before, difficult to find where things are. Didn’t know we really should have booked an extra RV site, as spaces to park our car were almost non-existent. We found one, but were afraid to leave because we probably wouldn’t find a space when we got back, so we were stuck here for the weekend. Unable to go out for dinner, and food options at the track at night are very limited. Not familiar with the seating, so didn’t know to reserve seats in the shade. Hot metal benches unseasonable hot weather didn’t help. Lot of walking and stair climbing to get to our seats. Never were able to use our pit passes, as the access was a long way away. There are shuttles to various places, but never found one to the pit entrance gate. Met a lot of friendly, helpful people, some not so friendly. Many of the grounds employees were obviously temps hired for the weekend and couldn’t answer any questions. If you decide to come here, check out the fan info on their web site, that will help somewhat. I’m sure it would have been better if I were 20 years younger.
