A Few Important Notes
If you look at our costs, as reported on in other articles, you will see some of the figures may be a little different. Thats because we sometimes had other, non-qualifying, repairs done at the same time. So it was tricky to determine the exact allocation of costs relating to freight, tax and shop supplies. But the summary above should give you a pretty good guideline.
Looking back, we found we ended up with one major repair/claim per year, on average, with that coach. And honestly, it could have gone either way in terms of whether or not the RV extended warranty was worth it.
But as full-timers who use our coach 365 days a year, and are able to identify and jump onto issues as soon as they present themselves, we personally appreciated having the confidence and peace of mind that having the RV extended warranty policy brought us. It was just one less thing for us to worry about. A mechanical breakdown on the side of the road is stressful enough, without having to worry about the repair bill!
We also did some repairs and trouble shooting on our own, without going to an RV repair facility. Had we done all repairs in a shop, the warranty claims would have been higher.

Who Is The Rv Warranty Seller And Administrator And What Are Their Reputations
Theres a lot to learn when it comes to RV warranty contracts, but one of the most overlooked is the many whos involved! Many buyers dont fully understand that the RV warranty they purchase, whether from an online broker or their RV dealer, is not actually administered by that seller. In fact, claims will be handled by the administrator of your policy, listed in the fine print of your contract. Check out the administrator: what are their hours? Do you they specialize in RV? What is their online reputation like? These are important questions to ask before committing to a contract.
Additionally, the reputation of your seller matters just as much as the administrator. Thats who you would turn to if things went awry with your claim, right? What kind of reputation does your RV protection seller have for not only handling straightforward claims, but fighting for you the customer? They should be fighting to get you back on the road, not fighting to keep from paying for a repair.

Beware Of Ordering Online
I shopped online, selected a product, then backed out before clicking the submit button. I didn’t receive a confirmation notice to my email, but they sent a notice to my email this morning, telling me that the expensive, heavy product will be delivered tomorrow. I needed the item sooner than they could deliver and bought it elsewhere. They said too bad. They must be desperate, beware. I will have to pay return shipping. A confirmation email would have shocked me, but I could have cancelled at that point.

What Happens If I Change My Mind
If you cancel within the first 30 days of coverage, youll be reimbursed 100% of your paid premium, minus any claims that may have been paid within that time frame. If you cancel after 30 days, you will be refunded a pro-rata amount for the months that are left, plus a $50 cancellation fee. That fee is waived if you transfer coverage to a new RV or vehicle.
