Tamalpais State Park is located to the north of the Golden Gate Bridge, boasting views that extend 25-miles beyond the Farallon Islands and out to sea. Visitors also enjoy views of San Francisco Bay, East Bay, and Mount Diablo. Cavernous canyons, redwood and oak forests, grasslands, and native chaparral areas are among the parks habitats. Biscayne National Park Southern Florida

Sleep under the stars on a tropical island in the company of swaying palm trees and hardwood forests in one of Floridas most unique national parks. Over 90 percent of the park is underwater, and there are no bridges to get here campers must ferry over via boat. Bring a kayak and snorkel gear to explore the vibrant underwater jungle of coral reefs and mangrove forests, and a pair of lightweight hiking boots to trek through the hardwood forests on Elliot Key. It is hard to believe this campground is off the coast of the bustling city of Miami! Beach camping is available on both Boca Chita Key and Elliot Key, although Elliot Key is larger and offers amenities like showers and running water. Boca Chita Key provides only restrooms, and campers must bring their own drinking water. Camping costs $15 a night, a round-trip ferry shuttle is $60, and a kayak shuttle is $20. The campground is open year-round, but the ferry system is weather-dependent. You do not need a camping reservation, but should check-in with the park for ferry times and availability.

Big Lagoon State Park

Just across the bridge from Perdido Key, Big Lagoon separates the mainland from Perdido Key and the Gulf of Mexico. It boasts 655 acres, including beaches, shallow bays, nature trails and open woodlands. The park is a haven for nature lovers, and offers kayaking, hiking, fishing, birding and more. Its 75 camping spots are equipped with water and electricity, and accommodate both RVs and tents.

Best Beach Cabins In Nsw

If you prefer glamping to camping then Kiama Harbour Cabins offers luxurious cabins perched right on Blowhole Point. These one, two and three-bedroom cabins have sea views, fully equipped kitchens, washing machines, wifi and a spa bath.

An easy walk brings you to Kiamas cafes, where you can journey onto the lighthouse or take a short drive to Jamberoo Action park and enjoy some aqua fun. Or just chill in your cabin and enjoy the view.

Biscayne National Park Florida

Biscayne National Park houses two campgrounds located on the islands of Elliot Key and Boca Chita Key. These islands are only accessible by boat, and since there is no service there, a trip to Biscayne National Park promises to be challenging and thrilling.

Boca Chita Key is the more popular island, boasting a grassy camping area with picnic tables and grills, as well as beautiful waterfront views. In spite of being the more popular island among the two, Boca Chita Key lacks showers, sinks, or drinking water, but it does have toilets.

Elliot Key is a little richer in amenities, featuring restrooms with sinks and cold water showers. Drinking water is available as well, though its supply system goes down occasionally. If coming on your vessel, you may also make use of the 33 boat slips available.

Note that no reservations in advance can be made for Biscayne National Park campgrounds they work on a first-come, first-served basis. With that in mind, its a little bit more difficult to plan a trip to Biscayne National Park. It shouldnt be too problematic though if you are a local.

Cayo Costa Island State Park

Since there are no roads or bridges to this island, the Tropic Star ferries passengers to Cayo Costa State Park daily, leaving from Bokeelia on Pine Island. La Costa Island is a fairly large and mostly undeveloped island between North Captiva and Boca Grande. The camping area is right behind the small dunes and just steps from a fantastic crescent-shaped beach. Bring lots of batteries for your camera because you won’t be able to stop taking pictures. Several six-person cabins are also available. None of the sites have electricity or water. Showers and flush toilets are available, as is drinking water. You may find that you have the beach practically all to yourself.

Bribie Island Ocean Beach camp sites

For a peaceful escape from city life, and less than 3 hours drive south of Sydney, Green Patch in Booderee National Park tops the list. With 55 discrete campsites located right next to the ocean, this is an escape youll remember. Hot showers make it one of the more luxurious bush camping experiences, especially welcome on windy days, when the sand can get whipped into a frenzy.

However, there are no powered sites at Green Patch, so leave the hairdryer at home. Weekend sites generally get booked up to a month in advance so some future planning is advised in warmer months, but with pristine white sandy beaches and Jervis Bay a short 10-minute drive away Green Patch is one of the best beach camping spots near Sydney youll ever find.

Assateague Island State Park Maryland

Assateague Island State Park is one of our familys favorite places to park our RVhopefully on a site right over the dunes from the ocean. Wild horses roam throughout the campground and will walk right through your site. So make sure not to leave food out for them. This campground is simple and has few amenities, but with the sparkling waters of the Atlantic Ocean just a few steps away from your site it doesnt really matter. The ocean and the beach will provide countless hours of entertainment.

Nehalem Bay State Park

Less than a two-hour drive from all the big-city attractions in Portland, this state park is set upon a four-mile sand spit separating Nehalem Bay from the ocean. More than 260 electrical sites cater to RVs and tent campers at Nehalem Bay. The state park also has the largest selection of yurts on the coast, with 18 available to rent.

Via a short, sandy trail, campers cross a dune to access the beach and ocean from the campground. Restrooms, running water, and showers are all included on-site. Camping reservations are recommended if not required in the summer season.

Just a couple of miles north of the campground, the small town of Manzanita is a great place to buy camping supplies, eat out for a meal, or catch some live music on the weekends.

Crystal Cove Cottages State Park

Known to be one of the last remaining examples of early 20th century Southern California coastal development, Crystal Cove Cottages State Park offers a piece of history in its 46 vintage rustic coastal cottages. There are about 19 available for overnight use, but they are very difficult to reserve. You can also try Campsite Assist to receive alerts if a cottage becomes available. The park and cottages are located just north of Laguna Beach. Crystal Cove State Park also has Moro Campground , and three primitive campgrounds including Deer Canyon, Upper Moro and Lower Moro.

Hearst San Simeon State Park

Camping at New England

Along the central California coast, media mogul William Randolph Hearst built an American icon, Hearst Castle. Set on a bluff above the Pacific Ocean, its now a state park. This park boasts over 20 miles of beaches.

Head to the Elephant Seal Boardwalk to see a large rookery from a boardwalk. Located along Highway 1, 5 miles north of Hearst Castle Rd. and free.

San Simeon Creek Campground offers tent and RV sites without hook-ups for $35. The RV size limit for all campsites is 35 feet. The Washburn Campground features primitive sites for $20.

Both campgrounds are located next to each other and the entrance at 5000 San Simeon-Monterey Creek Rd. in Cambria.

Nearby: The Hearst Castle requires a separate timed ticket available online or at the Visitor Center at 750 Hearst Castle Rd.

Atlantic Shore Pines Campground

Only 15 minutes away from the beaches of Long Beach Island, Atlantic Shore Pines Campground offers large campsites with either full hookups or only water and electrical hookups. There are plenty of on-site amenities for guests to enjoy, including a swimming pool, a mini-golf course, a games room, and a basketball court. The campground hosts theme nights every weekend in the summer, and complimentary Long Island Beach passes are provided during beach season. Cabins and lodges with air conditioning and heat are available for rent, and all guests are given access to restroom facilities with free hot showers.

Long Key State Park Florida

Experience a quieter side of the Florida Keys at Mile Marker 67 on the Overseas Highway with an oceanfront campground at Long Key State Park. Each of the parks 60 sites overlooks an isolated stretch of the Atlantic Ocean. Relax on the beach or snorkel in the gentle waves along the shoreline. When youre ready to shake the sand off your feet, take a 40-minute walk around the Golden Orb Trail. Rent a canoe or kayak and navigate the 1.5-mile Long Key Lakes Canoe Trail through the parks shallow lagoons. Amenities include hot showers, electric hookups and water at each site, plus some ranger-led activities. As of September 8, 2020, the campground is closed for construction, but primitive camping is available.

Harris Beach State Park

On the far southern end of the Oregon coast, Harris Beach State Park accommodates hikers, bikers, car campers, and RV dwellers with more than 150 campsites available. This spacious campground’s real appeal comes from its immediate surroundings – including easy access to Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor just up the road.

Approximately 90 sites cater to RVs at Harris Beach, some with full hookups and some with just electric plug-ins. The state park also has approximately 60 tent sites. Every pull-up camp spot at Harris Beach State Park comes with a paved parking spot, picnic table, and fire ring, as well as nearby water, restrooms, and showers.

The campground is situated within the city limits of Brookings and next to the ocean. A paved pedestrian path within the campground accesses the beach and inspiring views before connecting to Downtown Brookings.

Campgrounds In Nj: Round Valley Reservoir

One of the only parks in New Jersey that permits wilderness camping, Round Valley Reservoir is an excellent destination for anyone interested in fishing, hiking, hunting, and scuba diving. There are 85 peaceful wilderness campsites that can only be accessed by boat or by foot vehicles and trailers are not permitted. All sites are equipped with a fire ring, and pit toilets and drinking water can be found within easy walking distance. The campsites are open between the beginning of April and the end of October, and campers are required to check in no later than 4 p.m.

Assateague Island National Seashore Maryland

The protected seashore at Assateague Island stretches from Maryland into Virginia, with camping permitted on the Maryland side. The parks oceanside campsites are spacious, sandy and just a short stroll on the boardwalk past the dunes to the beach. Walk-in and drive-in sites feature picnic tables, grills and easy access to restrooms, showers and clean water. After setting up camp, head out on a hike to catch a glimpse of the islands famed wild ponies, collect seashells on the beach or play in the surf. The park is phasing in access to some areas and facilities due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so visit the website for details.

Homer Spit Campground: Homer Alaska

You cant find more picturesque views of mountains and ocean than in Homer. Located along Kachemak Bay, this campground is large enough to fit over 100 RVs and at least 25 tents. Even though its Alaska, you wont be roughing it either. The campground is very close to restaurants, shops, and bars as well. Beachfront campsite rates begin at $35, but there are far more sites to explore if you dont want to be right on the water. More information can be found on the Homer Spit Campground website.

Boston Harbor Islands Massachusetts

Boston Harbor Islands feature the contrasting views of the Atlantic Ocean on one side and Bostons skyline on the other. But the most unique feature of the Boston Harbor Islands is that you have something new to see and do even after numerous visits.

You can choose to camp in one of the several mainland parks or islands only accessible by ferry. Not only that, but you will have the chance to see and visit abandoned hospitals and historic military forts that are waiting to tell you the story of Boston.

The camping season here begins in late June and ends with a run through Labor Day, but with an off-season camping permit, you may camp here anytime throughout the year. You dont need to stay here for a camp though you may purchase a ticket and visit as many islands as you want in a day!

Hoffmaster State Park: Muskegon Michigan

Jalama Beach Campground

With three miles of Lake Michigan shoreline, theres a lot to see and do on this popular campground. It has massive grounds 297 sites in all with tons of beautiful views, hiking trails, and even skiing trails. Even though the area seems secluded, visitors noted that you can take a short trip into a nearby town or even to a local brewery. Camping fees range between $25 and $37 per night. Jalama Beach County Park

If you pine for a hidden beach with amazing sunsets over the Pacific, Jalama is it and some of the best beach camping in Southern California. Since its surrounded by private property and Vanderberg Air Force Base, its secluded. Dont miss the Amtraks Surfliner train chugging up and down the coast on the tracks just outside the park.

Find tent camping sites, RV sites, day-use sites along with one and two-bedroom cabins for rent. Basic sites start at $30 a night and premier sites are $50 a night. The cabins start at $190 a night. Jalama Beach features a bathhouse with hot showers along with flush toilets. You will find a stocked store with camping necessities or grab a bite at the Jalama Beach Grill.

Located at 9999 Jalama Road, about 45 minutes from Lompoc.
