St Joseph Peninsula State Park
This Gulf Coast park southwest of Panama City is a thin strip of land with a heavily-forested interior surrounded by white sand beaches on two sides. Anastasia State Park St Augustine
The four-mile-long beach is nothing short of spectacular, a magnet for beach lovers and surfers who hike to the north end of the beach for the breaks at the inlet.
The campground is tucked away in a stand of trees, well back from the rolling dunes, and theres a beach concession nearby with a cafe and Wi-Fi serving both the campground and day-use visitors.
A tidal basin on the east side of the park allows kayaking out to the Matanzas River and the historic St. Augustine waterfront, wetlands and feeder creeks.You can also rent canoes, catamaran sailboats and paddleboards if you dont have your own.

John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park
John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park offers RV camping in one of 47 full-facility campsites surrounded by an aquatic wonderland of coral reefs, seagrass beds and mangrove swamps. The park offers snorkeling, scuba, and glass-bottom boat tours to the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. There is also swimming in three designated areas, as well as picnic areas with grills throughout the park. If youre looking for Floridas natural beauty distilled, youll find it at Myakka River State Park. Myakka River, one of Floridas oldest and largest state parks, is home to panthers, gators, turkey, herons, and egrets as well as their diverse habitats, from prairies to wetlands.
With the abundance of animals, wildlife viewing is a popular activity while Myakka State Park camping. Hikers can tread along 38.9 miles of loop trial, and if youd rather cruise on the water, there are daily boat tours available so you can focus on photography. If youre especially keen on seeing the gators, make sure to stop by the deep hole.
There are 90 campsites in the park, and you can expect to find electrical service, water, a fire ring, and a bathroom within 40 yards of each one. Hammock camping is permitted on six of those sites. Six spots along the hiking trail are designated for primitive campers, but be prepared to supply your own water, as its not guaranteed.

Kelly Park / Rock Spring Apopka
There are only 26 campsites, and every one is spacious, clean and well-shaded. Its also just a short walk through the woods to one of the most treasured springs in the state, Rock Spring, where you can swim in the refreshingly cool, clear water that extends down the Run in a series of elongated pools.
Near the park is a privately run canoe and kayak livery, Kings Landing, where youll be set up for an 8.5 mile paddle down Rock Spring Run through a pristine tropical jungle to the Wekiva River.
Kelly Park is very busy on weekends, with lines building after 10 a.m. on exterior roads, but campers have a private entrance day or night.
The basic camping rate is $23 per night for non-residents, with discounts for seniors and Orange County residents. No pets. This is bear and alligator country, and Fido would be seen as an easy meal.
Kelly Park is about 50 minutes from Disney World and Universal Studios via the Western Expressway and Floridas Turnpike.
