Cave Springs
Cave Springs calls scenic Oak Creek Canyon home. And this site gives campers a great taste of Sedonas natural splendor. The campground is creek-side, surrounded by lush green ponderosa trees and red rocks. Campers have access to the creek and hiking trails. The stream is stocked with trout. You can birdwatch from here too. Youll find 84 campsites here. Each site features picnic tables,campfire rings and cooking grills. Vault restrooms, coin-operated showers and drinking water are all available. Cave Springs also can host RVs, trailers and motor homes up to 36 feet. Reservations must be made three days in advance and can be made up to six months in advance.

Pine Flat
Most of the 59 single unit campsites at Pine Flat are located right on the banks of Oak Creek. The ones that arent on the Creek are close by so you can walk down and hear the babbling water. Pine Flat is a little more than one mile north of Cave Springs. Pine Flat offers picnic tables, campfire rings and cooking grills, vault restrooms and drinking water. Pine Flat has no showers, but you can use the showers at Cave Springs.

Dead Horse Ranch State Park
Dead Horse Ranch State Park is a popular destination for RV, tent, and cabin camping on the Verde River. There are over 100 large RV sites available, and campers enjoy a full menu of amenities. The Dead Horse Trail system are accessible from the campground and include over 20 miles of hiking and biking track.

Lost Dutchman State Park
Named after the mythical Lost Dutchmans Gold Mine, Lost Dutchman State Park is located in the Sonoran Desert, on the footsteps of the Superstition Mountains.
Some of the wildlife native to the area are, the mule deer, coyote, jackrabbit and javelina. The state park is also a trailhead for trails leading to the Tonto National Forest and the rugged Superstitions.

Pumphouse Wash, also known as Forest Road 237, is commonly used as dispersed camping near Sedona, AZ, and Flagstaff, Arizona. The dispersed camping is great for larger groups and there are four campsite loops.
Each Pumphouse Wash dispersed camping site has a fire ring. The is no trash service and there are no restrooms available. The Pumphouse Wash dispersed camping road is maintained and is good for cars.
It is open from May to October 12. It is required to camp in a designated camping area in this location. You need to be parked within 50 feet of a campsite signpost. This dispersed camping site does not allow for off-road vehicles.
The area is maintained by the Flagstaff Ranger District. They can be reached at 928-526-0866. This is free Sedona BLM camping, but you must stay at a designated campsite.

Loy Butte Road Dispersed
Located about a half-hour away from Sedona, Loy Butte Road lies closer to the red rock buttes for a stunning campsite background. And there are plenty of campsites off every spur.
The bad news is there arent many that a rig over 30 feet will fit into.
Cell service is OK closer to the main road but non-existent farther in. Dont count on it if you absolutely need it for work or school.

Dispersed Camping Around Sedona
For your own patch of desert with amazing views, peace and quiet, and starlit skies, just drive southwest towards Cottonwood. Find the right road, drive in a short distance, and select your very own piece of land to set up camp.
The area off Highway 89A west of Sedona runs through Coconino National Forest land, and camping is allowed pretty much anywhere. The rules are simple and easy to follow, and the price is right – camping is free. However, with zero cost comes zero facilities. You must be fully self-sufficient and bury your waste or have a self contained unit.
The main area for dispersed camping is off FS525, which is also the road to the Palatki ruins. Note that the area for dispersed camping ends at Boynton Canyon Road .
You’ll also find camping east of Sedona off the Schnebly Road, but this is a very rough and steep road and not suitable for any type of trailer.
South of Sedona, camping is also available, but this is a significant distance from town and not particularly convenient to the main attractions, except for Montezuma’s Well.
