Uber or Lyft is the cheapest/quickest option to reach our rental location. If youre using Uber, please double-check that the address matches the one listed above so that youre not dropped off at the wrong location.
A rideshare from the airport midday is approx $40 and only 20-30 minutes travel time. If traveling to our San Francisco rental site by train, you may have to switch trains and UBER/LYFT from the HAYWARD BART. It is roughly $11.00 total but a much longer journey.
Note that we do not allow parking of personal vehicles at our rental location.

With over 82,000 acres, you can enjoy the Presidio of San Francisco, Alcatraz, and Muir Woods National Monument, among others. It is home to more than 3,000 animal and plant species. Savor 59 miles of ocean and bay shoreline, and explore former military forts and facilities that span many centuries of history in California, from the Spanish conquistadors to the Cold War.

Special Drivers License Required? Travel trailers and motorhomes rentals are usually below the weight and/or length limit required for a commercial drivers license, in this case no special drivers license is required.
Difficult to Drive? You see all of those people driving down the road in an RV. If they can do it, you can too! Of course, you will need to understand and follow the safety standards for the vehicle.
Difficult to Operate? Not really but as with many new things there is a slight learning curve. Your owner may give you an orientation on the operation of the various systems of the RV.
Fuel Mileage Expected? The average motorhome gets 7 11 miles per gallon which is not that much different than the 8 13 MPG towing the average travel trailer. Driving speed, wind, and terrain will impact your MPG. For the best MPG, drive slower and avoid quick starts. Wind and hills may lower MPG.
Insurance Required? Yes. Dealers almost always require proof insurance on the rental. In some cases this may be obtained through your auto carrier. Alternatively, you may need to buy insurance from a third party. Insurance may be included in the total price or billed separately.

The campgrounds at Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park are a great place to camp, so rent an RV and reserve your spot early. There are three campgrounds to pick from: Ferns Edge, Whispering Hills, and Riverside. Ferns Edge and Riverside campgrounds do not have electric hookups and are more primitive with vault toilets and no shower facilities. Whispering Hills offers, electric hookups, restrooms and showers.
