Best Camping In Burlington Vermont

If you want to be right in the city, Id recommend checking out North Beach Campground, which is run by the city of Burlington. While this is a busy campground and not much of a wilderness experience, North Beach Campground does have a lot going for it.

This camping near Burlington is located right on Lake Champlain and right on the Burlington Bike Path. You can pitch your tent or park your RV and then bike into the downtown area. North Beach is a busy day-use area in the summer, and theres a playground, sandy beach, and concessions.

If you are looking for outdoor adventures, I recommend camping at the Vermont State Parks mentioned above. Take a day trip into Burlington for a taste of city life. If you want to spend more than a day in the city, camp at North Beach. Either way, youll love this part of Vermont.

Rules For Vermont State Parks After November 1

After October 14, most state parks officially close across the state of Vermont but will reopen on November 1 to begin their winter season with free access and Leave No Trace rules in effect. During this time, parking is only available outside of the main gates, because the gates will be locked. At this time, there is no running water, and hunting is permitted in the parks, so precautions should be taken and campers are asked to submit requests for off-season camping.
