How To Book A Campsite
Scorpion Ranch campground is currently closed for construction but is available to book for December 2020 and onwards. Campsites cost $15 per night for a single tent or $40 for a group site. You can reserve a campsite for Scorpion Ranch Campground at recreation.gov.
To get there, arrange boat transportation with Island Packers in Ventura Harbor.

There are lots of reasons that northern California is such a popular destination for RV camping. It truly has it all: in terms of stunning natural beauty, rich history, and incredible terrain diversity.
While beaches and deserts might spring to mind when you think of the sun-kissed southern half of the Golden State, the northern side of California has vastly different terrain. Its maybe best known for its towering and majestic redwood trees, the ruggedly scenic Pacific coastline, and its enchanting wine country escapes.

The location of this campground makes it the perfect spot to explore all Morro Bay State Park has to offer. It is just a short drive into town and to the iconic Morro Rock.
There are tons of walking trails around the park including the 2.5-mile moderate Black Hill Trail that starts right from the campground. A walk on this trail will reward you with some beautiful ocean views, stunning wildflowers and it is the perfect spot to watch the sunset.
Make sure you also check out the bird estuary right across the street and the nearby Museum of Natural History.
If you are looking for a great restaurant, then you should try The Bayside Cafe. It is only a short walk from the campground and offers beautiful waterfront dining.
Keep in mind that this campground does get busy, so you will want to book your reservations in advance. It is also important to know that the sites are fairly close together and you should dress warm as this area on the coast can get cold.
The Morro Bay State Campground is a great place to explore the ocean, see birds and wildlife, and is one of the best RV campgrounds in Northern California.

Hidden amongst the Redwoods the Ancient Redwoods RV Park is close to Highway-101 and right along The Avenue of The Giants. This RV park is privately owned and operated and sits near the tallest and oldest living trees in the world.
This Northern California RV campground is a great place to stay in the Redwoods while you explore all the nearby attractions.
Drive the Avenue of the Giants which is a 31-mile portion of the historic Highway-101 that has the tallest trees in California. Explore the 1,000-acre Richardson Grove State Park where you can hike the trails, see more Redwoods, and swim in the Eel River.
You can also explore Founders Grove which is located within the Humboldt Redwoods State Park and only a 8-minute drive from the campground. Founders Grove is a short half-mile hike through a massive Redwood Forest.

Castle Crags State Park Campground Castle Crags State Park
Surrounded by the Shasta-Trinity National Forest near the city of Mount Shasta, Castle Crags State Park is named after the millions-year-old granite spires within its borders. Popular activities at the park include hiking, camping, and fishing in the Sacramento River.
The campground at Castle Crags features over 60 standard sites with access to running water and showers, as well as a first-come, first-served separate Riverside Campground with an extra dozen sites available.
East of Castle Crags, another popular state park adjacent to the Shasta-Trinity National Forest offers similar camping appeal. Close to a fanning waterfall feature, the campground at McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park has over 100 family sites available for tents or RVs.

About 30 minutes from San Francisco , this RV site has easy freeway access and you can observe the hiking trails nearby, also a short drive will get you to the Golden Gate bridge. The Wifi is a little congested as it is free, but we have to mention the very clean laundry service and the overall customer service. Park a bus-sized Class A motorhome in the full-service Bodega Bay RV Park, and take advantage of the natural beauty of the place made famous by the 1963 movie “The Birds.” Walk down to the Tides Restaurant that Alfred Hitchcock used as one of the on-site locations. The eatery is still in business, offering fresh seafood from boats that dock at the adjacent harbor. Play a round of golf at the Bodega Harbor Golf Links, a two-mile ride down the road. Patricks Point State Park Campground
Up in Northern Californias rugged coastline you will find Patricks Point Campground nestled next to the ocean and tucked in a beautiful Redwood Forest.
The campground is about 15-minutes to the cute coastal town of Trinidad. This little town has some of the best seafood restaurants and cute gift shops. It is one of the best beach towns in Northern California.
Camping in Patricks Point feels like you are in your own little forest. Each site is surrounded by trees, ferns, and plants which offers privacy.
There are a total of 124 campsites that can accommodate tents, RVs and trailers. You cannot actually see the ocean from the campsites, but it is just a short walk away.
This campground is located within the 640-acre Patricks Point State Park. You can walk right from your campsite to the nearby hiking trails that go through the Redwoods and along the rocky coastline.
One popular attraction in the park is Wedding Rock, a huge rock that you can hike to the top of that has stunning views of the ocean.
Agate Beach is another great beach to visit with this state park. This beach is perfect for beachcombing and one of the best beaches in Northern California.
If you want to explore even more massive Redwood Trees in the area, Redwoods National and State Park is located just 20-minutes north. Here you can see some of the biggest Redwoods in the state, watch wild Elk, and hike to Fern Canyon.
